Doyar had been looking at Kit, Thinking on how much he trusted him, and thinking on how stupid he is right now.

Kit walked into the graveyard at around dusk in Kakariko Village. Doyar reluctantly followed. In order to pay for Talons horses, kit needed 100 rupees, and his last hundred went into the hand of the Black Wolfos, a menacing creature that would not stop till it killed everyone in Kakariko.

"Kit..." Doyar began "I don't like this.... I'm... I'm scared!!"

"So am I, now be quiet or you’re going to become a new side dish for this thing.

now, according to Dampe', the thing lives in the cave above the backmost grave. so, we'll climb into there, and get my rupee. "

Doyar shook his head.

"You do know you're insane! why can't we just work to get money?"

Kit paid no mind towards Doyar as he jumped on the Royal Family's tomb and onto the fence blocking their way into the cave.

"C'mon Doyar, if worse comes to worse, I’ll protect you!"

Doyar shrugged his shoulders and followed Kit.

"If I wanted to be killed, I would have stayed home!!!"

The unlikely duo descended the staircase down into darkness. Kit lit a small lamp he had in his satchel. he heard whimpering, and looked down to see his blood covered Rupee.

He picked it up and began to walk backwards, when he shone the light at the corner.

He saw something, not the wolfos, but a girl. she looked about 14, her hair was a beautiful emerald green, her ears stuck out like any other hylians, she was wearing tatters and ripped rags, her hand was bandaged up.

"Who.... Who are you?" she said.

Kit blinked, thinking the girl was a victim of the Wolfos.

"I'm Kit, and this is Doyar. Are you okay?"

She blinked at him, her eyes reflected his lamp with a wonderful green.

"You... have to flee, its almost night... when the moon rises, you have to go!!!

Now!"

"No way!" kit said. "Where going to save you before that thing comes back!

"you don't understand!" the girl yelled.

"I do! I'm going to save you, you can’t stay here and wait to be its dinner!"

"But I..."

"No buts, C'mon!"

Kit picked her up, she pushed him away and huddled in the corner.

"What's wrong? we can help you!" doyar told her.

"you don't understand, I am that monster. I turn into it at night.... I can't control what it does! last night, someone wounded its.. my hand with a silver rupee, I only wish who ever did that had killed me instead of just hurting me."

Kit looked at his blood stained rupee, then to the girl, who had a very wounded right hand, the same hand he stabbed with his money.

"Oh my gods..." kit said.

"Wait!" Doyar said.

"The Mask guy, the one back in town, he said something about a mask, maybe there's a mask that can heal you."

The girl looked at them then to the floor.

"please leave me... I can feel it... its coming, it will kill you.... every night I pray someone will kill it so I can die too...."

Kit felt so helpless.

"Doyar, we're going to see that mask guy, as for you m'lady, we shall return."

She looked up to kit.

"one thing... can you tie me up, maybe I won't attack the town if I'm restrained...."

Kit nodded and tied her hands to two torches. then gave her some food he had.

"here, eat this so you don't get too hungry"

She ate it rather quickly.

then began to shiver.

Kit heard her bones Cracking, and shifting in her body, fur began to grow on her face.

"GOOOOOOOOOHAWOOOOOOOOO!!!!" she howled.

Kit, horrified by the transformation, Ran frantically, hearing her scream and howl.

Doyar was already out side.

"That is some freaky stuff down there!!!" he exclaimed.

Kit felt so scared. he had never seen anything so horrid in his life.

"I have to help that poor girl." he said.

then he looked to doyar, who was on the ground crying.

"Doyar, are you okay?"

Doyars skin turned into a Tinge of green. he began to grow ear like fins on either side of his head. his fingers grew claws, his eyes became yellow and glowing, he grew fat red lips, and a large red fin on his head.

Kit recognized the form in a second.

"A River Zora!!!!"

Doyar, in his new form looked at kit.

"You! OUTsider! you wILL DIE!"

Doyar then shot a fireball from his mouth.

Kit dodged it.

"what the?? Why?" Kit yelled.

then he remembered the bite mark on Doyar's arm.

Doyar lunged for Kit. his sharp fangs out, ready to devour him.

Kit held him back. he wasn't as powerful as the wolfos.

Suddenly a shovel came down on Doyars head. he fell to the ground unconscious.

Kit looked at the twisted face of a man he almost recognized.

"Dampe'! boy am I glad to see you!"

Dampe' gave kit a funny look.

"I don't know you. Who are you, and what is that?"

Just then, they both heard a howl.

"The black wolfos!!" Dampe' exclaimed.

"come with me furry one" he said to kit.

Kit picked up Doyar's hideous body and carried him to dampes hut.

"Leave THAT outside!" Dampe' told Kit.

Kit put Doyars body on the ground next to Dampe's hut, and followed Dampe' inside.

Kit sipped his warm drink Dampe' Prepared for him.

"That damn wolfos has been upsetting' people in town. we can only thank the gods it isn't out tonight!"

"actually" Kit started. "you can thank me, I tied it up."

Dampe' looked at kit in amazement.

"you’re pretty tough for an outlander. Where you from boy?"

"I don't know.." kit told him.

"well, I came from Termina before I came here, but, I can’t remember a thing before that."

"Termina eh?" Dampe' pondered. "My twin brother lives there. he shouldn't be a graveyard keeper. He's afraid of Ghosts and Stal Children. What a coward."

Kit laughed.

"yea, I met him once. looks just like you."

Dampe' smiled.

"Here kid, I found this in one of the graves, I wanted to give it to someone who had a killer instinct inside them. since you fought both those monsters, I want to give you this."

He handed Kit a black handled, blue shiny hook shot.

"thanks" kit said.

"since my crossbow was broken by that wolfos, I've been in need of a new weapon to protect myself. you see, I'm on a quest..."

Kit told Dampe' the whole story.

Doyar awoke with a pounding headache.

His skin felt clammy and dried out.

"ooohhhh... Kit? where am I?"

Kit looked down at Doyar.

"good to see you’re awake. and back to normal."

Doyar looked around. he recognized the big gate to Hyrule castle town.

"you carried me here?" Doyar blinked.

"yea. you... changed into something. a different Zora... a River Zora."

"A river Zora?" doyar blinked again.

"what's a river Zora?"

Kit laughed a bit.

"it’s a Zora that lives in some other lands. They’re native to Holodrum, but seem to be spreading to other lands. Some nick name them Zola, because they don't look, or act like "real" Zoras."

"oh... and I turned into one? Why?"

Kit pointed to the gash on Doyars arm.

"The curse of the black wolfos, Dampe' told me all about it. it turns you into a monster, I suppose any monster your heart reflects, and since you share blood with river Zoras, then I guess that's your monster. That girl back there, I wonder how she got like that..."

Doyar shook his head.

"is there any cure for me?"

Kit sighed

"no. but if we kill or heal the original one that spread the virus to you, your transformations will stop."

"oh..." doyar looked down.

"did I hurt you?" doyar asked.

"nah. but Dampe' hit you pretty hard with a shovel..."

Doyar rubbed his head.

"I can tell..."

The gate to the castle then opened up, Kit got up off the ground and brushed himself off.

"c'mon doyar, that crazy mask guy knows more than he's letting on, let’s go see him."

Kit helped up Doyar off the ground, and they both walked into the town together.

"what do you mean a song?"

Kit yelled to the mask man.

"Well, you see, you need an instrument to play for the troubled wolfos spirit.

and I can teach you a song as soon as you have an instrument."

"great!" kit pounded the table with his fist.

"I thought you said "if the mask fits", don't you have a mask that can heal her?"

"no, but she does, now get an instrument. unless you don't want to save her or your Zora friend here!"

Kit grinded his teeth.

"fine. I will return with an instrument, but you better not be lying!"

"Have faith!" the creepy man said in a strange haunting voice.

Kit walked outside.

"Well?" doyar asked. "do you have the mask?"

"no" kit said. "she does. we need to play a song for her. but in order to do that we need an instrument."

Doyar began to think.

"we can sneak into Zoras domain and get my brothers’ guitar."

Kit looked at his friend.

"great... if were caught, we could be killed!"

Doyar shrugged.

"and if we don't get the guitar, I could kill you."

Kit nodded.

"true... lets go before it gets dark, tonight at about 16:00."

The sun was setting, Kit and doyar had been waiting near Lake Hylia.

Doyar walked ahead a little, and motioned for kit to follow.

"I know a secret entrance to Zoras domain from here. follow me."

Kit followed.

Doyar jumped into the water and into a small hole in a stone slab.

Kit followed.

they both emerged in Zoras domain, it was empty. all were asleep somewhere.

Doyar told kit to wait by the hole as he dove down towards a cave on the bottom of the indoor lake.

Kit waited.

Doyar then emerged with a fish skeleton that was fashioned into a guitar.

"wow," Kit said. "that was rather easy."

Then two adult Zoras dove down from the waterfall.

"STOP! Doyar the thief has returned to steal more of our things!"

Kit swam through the hole as did doyar that led to Lake Hylia.

they emerged and scrambled up to land.

Suddenly, Mikeel and Beod, Doyars older brothers, Also emerged from the water.

"It’s almost sun set!!!" doyar yelled."Catch!"

he threw the guitar to Kit, Kit caught it.

"You're dead doyar!" Mikeel screamed.

"I'm gonna rip your fins off!" yelled Beod.

Kit and doyar were running as fast as they could, up the path that led to Hyrule Field.

Kit climbed up the ladder to get past the gates, Doyar followed, but felt a hand grab his foot.

Doyar fell as Beod drove his fist into Doyars face.

Then... the moonshine hit the field.

Doyar began transforming...

same as before.

Mikeel began freaking out as Beod watched in terror as his little brother mutated into the huge beast Zola.

Doyar smashed Beod up against a wall, and clawed Mikeels face.

He then took one of Mikeels arms and smashed the Zora into the wall, head first. Mikeel fell limp.

Beod tried to run away, but Doyar grabbed him, lifted him high into the air, and brought him down upon the spiky gate.

Zora Blood oozed onto the ground.

Mikeel snapped awake to see Beod dead on the fence.

he tried to run, but Doyar grabbed him, clawed him all over, and shot a fireball into his face. Mikeel screamed and ran back to Lake Hylia, with his head on fire.

Doyar then turned to Kit, who was running across the field.

Doyars killing instinct over took him, he jumped over the two fences and chased Kit.

Kit was much faster, for Zoras and Zolas alike were made for water.

Kit made it to Gerudo Valley, the gate was closed, and he looked around for anything to hide in.

Nothing.

Doyar came up through the pathway, and slowly walked up to Kit.

Kit looked down into the valley of water below. if he dove in, Doyar would easily swim after him, but Kit had an idea.

He jumped off the bridge, Doyar Jumped down into the valley as well, but kit took out his Hook Shot and shot it at the wooden bridge. Doyar fell, down into the water, the current swept him into Lake Hylia.

Kit climbed the chain and got back onto the bridge.

He watched Doyars monster form go downstream.

He sighed, wondering how he was going to retrieve his lost mutated friend.

Hyrule town was bustling with worry.

The lake side lab professor discovered them first. He found Mikeels crisped body lying on the ground, Doyars scared body floating in the lake. on his way to town to report what had happened, he had discovered Beod's body on the fence, a pool of blood below.

The man sent a carrier pidgeon to Hyrule Castle town.

People began to think.

The black wolfos didn't attack Kakariko that night, but they found 3 Dead Zoras in and near the lake.

The lakeside laboratory Professor told of screams he heard that night.

So everyone knew that it was the black wolfos.

or so they thought.

"poor Zoras. didn't deserve this."

the old professor said as he examined the wounds.

One Zora was burnt to death by a strange flame,

the other impaled by the fence posts.

the other only had a claw mark and a bruised face.

"poor poor Zoras. such a peaceful race."

As he poked the not so damaged Zora, The Zora gasped and got up.

"KIT! WHERE ARE YOU??"

The lake side professor screamed in surprise.

Back at Zoras domain, King Zora got word of the savage murders of his own kind.

All three of the Marrilake Brothers were slaughtered.

A 1000 Rupee reward was to anyone who finds and brings the head of the Black wolfos to King Zora.

Doyar ran out of the lakeside lab with the old man following.

"where are you going? you are very hurt!"

Doyar yelled "ill be okay!" While running toward Hyrule field.

Just outside the gate, he saw Kit walking toward him.

"Kit!! Where are Beod and Mikeel?"

Kit put his head down.

"Look... Doyar.....

Let’s just go back to town."

Hyrule Castle town was very busy.

People were all murmuring about the black wolfos.

Doyar and Kit walked into the mask shop.

"Kit! tell me what happened last night!"

Kit was silent.

"We have an instrument."

Kit told the mask man.

An Organ appeared on the wall behind the mask man.

"Here, I'll teach you a song that calms spirits down, you are the second boy I've taught this tune to."

He played the beautiful melody.

Doyar, who knew the notes of the guitar, mimicked the notes.

"What a pretty song." Kit exclaimed.

Doyar smiled.

"Got it in memory!" he jumped in a little victory dance.

"Thanks Mask man! if this works, well give you half the reward."

"Not needed my friend. just help those troubled spirits around you.

and believe, believe!"

Kit and doyar walked back out to town.

People saw doyar and rushed up to him.

"did you know the three dead Zoras?"

"where did you get that bruise?"

"Who slashed you?"

"Was it the Black wolfos?"

"have you seen it?"

Kit pushed pass them with doyar in tow.

once they reached the gates to Hyrule field, Doyar looked at Kit.

"What dead Zoras?"

Kit looked down, and told him everything that happened.

Doyar buried his head in his hands and cried.

"Doyar, listen, it wasn't you fault."

Doyar looked at kit with watery eyes.

"It’s all because of that Black Wolfos girl, we have to kill her!!!"

"NO!" Kit yelled "we could save her!"

"how do you know its going to work huh? if it doesn't, then we have to off her for good!"

Kit looked down.

"I know...."

Hours had passed.

Kit and Doyar walked into the graveyard at Kakariko.

they got into the cave once again.

Kit saw her.

She was still tied to the torches, they were bent, as if she had struggled.

Doyar took out his Guitar.

"here goes!"

he played the wonderful tune.

Nothing happened.

"well, we wait until night to see if it worked..." kit said nonchalantly.

The girl woke up to see kit and doyar.

she was untied.

She smiled at having company.

"thanks for coming back... am I cured?" she asked.

"well, you should be, we played the song for you."

she nodded, confused, but not about to ask questions.

Kit made her some soup, all three ate it together.

Kit told her of his adventure up till this point, Doyar told her all about swimming and how fun it was.

she told them as much as she knew about her self, which wasn't a lot.

Kit sipped his last bit of soup and looked up out the cave. it was getting dark.

"wow.." she said "I've never seen night time.... is it pretty?"

Kit nodded.

"not quite as much as y..."

Kit stopped himself

he thought of Cremia back at the ranch.

then blushed and re-worded his sentence.

"Not quite as pretty as day, but it has its beauty."

She giggled, knowing what he was about to say.

Kit walked to the top of the stairs and hit the stone with the eye in it.

"BOING! BOING! the current time is 16:45."

Kit walked back down the steps.

15 minutes till the sun disappears...

the next 10 minutes went by rather quickly. doyar told some jokes.

he seemed overly happy,

most likely trying to cover up his sadness about his departed brothers.

Kit looked to the sky.

"well, the moment of truth!"

the sun went down.

Nothing happened.

"there! it worked.!"

Doyar laughed.

"what did that guy mean by "if the mask fits?"

Doyar asked.

Kit shrugged.

"Um... guys?" the girl began to shudder.

her body became hairy, her knees snapped backwards, her hands grew, and her body grew.

she was transforming, as was doyar.

Kit watched,. horrified.

both creatures looked at Kit, they both seemed hungry.

Kit backed up slowly as the Zola and Wolfos Stared at there prey.

Kit grabbed the guitar and tried to use it as a weapon, but doyar knocked it out of his hand into the grave yard.

Kit took out his hook shot, but the wolfos grabbed it and threw it behind her.

Kit knew his life was about to end.

He got up and ran, jumping over the fence , and over a couple graves and the two chased him.

Dampe' Came out of his hut

"TWO MONSTERS?? I'M OUTTA HERE!!!" Dampe' ran to the village.

Kit Ran and was knocked down by a blow to the back from Doyar.

Kit fell next to the guitar.

he heard a voice in his head.

"The curse of the black wolf can only be lifted if the mask fits....

the song will sooth troubled spirits......."

Kit grabbed the guitar and climbed atop of Dampe's hut. both monsters tried to reach for him.

Kit played the first 3 notes of the song of healing.

both monsters froze and looked confused.

Kit played the next three notes.

then the next 5.

he didn't know the tune, he had never played a guitar before, yet he felt something flow through him, and guide him through the song, he played it on Doyar's guitar.

As the music was playing doyar shifted back to normal. The black wolfos screamed an agonizing shriek of reluctance and pain. once Kit hit the very last note, there was a white flash.

The girl stood there, normal. The face of the wolf fell on the ground in front of her naked body. she looked at Doyar, then to Kit, and fainted.

Kit jumped off the roof and on the ground below. he looked at Doyar, who was looking around.

"Man... I feel weird. like a part of me is missing. but in a good way."

Kit smiled

"you're healed my friend. and so is she."

Kit picked up the girl and brought her back to the cave.

Doyar looked to the ground where she was lying, and saw the wolfos face.

"A mask??" he said.

He picked it up and looked at it.

it was indeed a mask.

"hmm, it makes sense now... what that guy said...

does that mean the spirit of the curse is locked in the mask?"

"that's exactly what it means!" the mask man said.

Doyar whirled to see him.

"whoa! thanks man. you really helped us."

"use that mask wisely. while it is worn, the curse will be active, but under control for a short time, if you take the mask off, you will be healed. tell that to your friend and the girl."

Doyar looked at the mask, then to the mask man.

he wasn't there any more.

Doyar heard a faint creepy laugh.

he then turned, and walked towards the cave.

Doyar told Kit all the mask man had told him.

"wow" kit said.

"I suppose this could be used to our advantage."

"we can also collect our reward from ol' King Zora."

Kit nodded.

The girl woke up.

Kit looked at her.

"it’s okay now. You’re safe. You’re free."

She smiled and hugged him. she then ran up to look out side.

the stars were so pretty to her.

she looked at the moon.

what was once her enemy, became her friend. she now loved the night time.

Kit smiled.

she ran back down the stairs and put on some clothing she had in a bag.

she had a brown leather top, a rainbow-coloured belt, and a loincloth.

she looked to the both of them.

"thanks again.... I don't know what to say...

I don't have a home...

I .... I was wondering..... can I come with you guys? on your journey?"

Kit nodded.

"the more the merrier!" kit laughed.

So did doyar.

as did the girl.

"heh.. I've never laughed before.... it feels good to be alive..."

"what's your name?" kit asked.

"um.... I don't have a name.... I never met my parents.... "

Kit nodded. "I know the feeling."

She looked at kit.

"can you give me a name?"

Kit looked at her.

everything turned white. for a split second he saw a female that looked like him.

"my names Mika!" she said.

Kit clicked back into reality.

"what was that.... " he asked himself.

"...um... a name, I asked for a name!"

"oh! sorry. well, how about Mika!"

She smiled.

"okay! Mika, I like it."

Doyar laughed.

"well, lets go collect our reward and buy those horses!”

Kit nodded.

“We have a long way ahead of us...”

Mika smiled brightly.

“where are we going?”

Kit frowned.

“I don’t know...
