"The Bottomless Sea"

A/N: This is a poem about Kakyou and the sea (technically). I'm rather proud of this. ^__^ Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Kakyou or X/1999. If I did, I'd probably hug Kakyou to death. But, alas, he belongs to the wondrous Clamp. I make no money off this. Please don't sue.

Pairing: Kakyou x Hokuto

The sea,

Dark and bottomless,

Dark like the shadow of my heart,

My pain,

My sorrow.

Darkness that reaches forever,

Until it reaches a vent,

Like the warm vents in the floor of the sea.

The warmth in my heart,

Is the love Hokuto gave to me.

When lonely,

I remake a dream of her;

Reflecting her image in my dreamscape.

A reflection,

Like that of the sun on the water's surface.

When sad,

I recreate her form and her voice.

And I talk to her,

As she talks back to me;

Like the heat bubbling from those deep underwater vents.

I know she can never come back,

That I will be alone.

But I will wait for the foreordained day to come,

When I can join her again,

Like a sailor coming home from a tiring journey.

But for now,

I will wait,

And hope,

For the darkness to fall and once again,

Gaze out over the bottomless sea.

A/N: I actually did this poem and the poem "All Will Be Well" while in the waiting room at the dentist's office. I never thought that, of all places, could be inspiring.
