EXTRA:
After Queen Selenity's death, she is frequently seen as a faerie, or goddess, not more than a foot tall.
Her husband was never mentioned in the anime or manga. Whether she was ever married, we will never know.
She only gave birth to one child, Usagi, as do all moon mothers.
The Silver Crystal is so powerful, that when used to it's full potential, it will take the life of the person who weilds it. This is why Queen Selenity died after sending her court and Princess Selenity to the future.

She is the master of sacrific. Queen of a peaceful palace, a peaceful court. Mother to a daughter that would defy all odds. Ruler of the moon, simply to have it torn from under her. To give up her life, her very exsistence to perhaps give happiness to her daughter. This is Queen Serenity, the Ruler of the Silver Millenium.

Queen Serenity is the ruler of the Silver Millenium, a time when peace and prosperity reign above all else. The queen ruled the people of the universe from her silver palace on the moon. Her court very much adored her and she was a kind and gentle ruler. She is very regal and calm as well. The queen had a daughter, Princess Serenity, whom she adored. Her wish was for Princess Serenity to follow in her footsteps, to rule the Silver Millenium as she had done.

The princess had fallen in love with a prince from Earth, Endymion, and in the manga, the Sailor Senshi and the queen predict that the love will not last, and that something tragic will happen from it. But the Queen is set on her daughter's happiness(how sweet^^ if you have seen the manga, you'll understand).

Seizing the opprtunity of a Lunar Eclipse, the Dark Kingdom attacked the Moon. The army of the moon proved defencless, and the Senshi were summoned. Their efforts were futile as well. The princess and her love were killed by Beryl, along with the other senshi and all members of Queens Serenity's court. When Queen Serenity saw this, all she cared about at that moment was her daughter. She was searching for the slightest sign of life in her. Alas, the princess was dead, and with this, the queen's heart broke. She raised her Moon Rod, and summoned the power of the Silver Crystal. She weakened the Dark Kingdom and they were forced into her crystal, along with the Court, the Senshi, and Princess Serenity. The queen used her last bit of power to send them and the moon kitties to a better future on earth, where her daughter could find happiness and perhaps peace. With this, she sighed, and her spirt flew.

Single-handedly, she stopped the Dark Kingdom, saved her court, and managed to send them all to the future for a second chance at life.

Queen Serenity is seen a few more times thoughout the manga and anime as the reincarnation of the moon goddess, Selene. She is still in the same attire except she has pale, transparent wings and she is small, like a fearie. She helps Usagi find herself thoughout the story and help the Senshi regain their memories of the past, something that is both painful and happy. Her advisors are Artemis and Luna, the moon kitties.
