Welcome to B-A-R-K WOOD.  I've had several people ask me What kind of wood is BARK wood? B-A-R-K stands for Beverly-Ashley-Richard-Kimberly. Well, bark is on all types of wood.

It all started when we were looking for a nice bed, made of wood.  Every where we went the beds looked good but 90% of them were some type of particle board with wood look trimming. So my wife and I decided to build our own. We lived in a two bed room apartment (Up Stairs ). We built the entire bed in the apartment. We borrowed a Table Saw, Drill, Hand Saw, Jig saw and other tools from my wife's uncle, David Clune.

After three weeks and alot of mad neighbors from all the noise we were making, we finished our bed. The bed is made of 3/4 inch birch wood. The head board is 6 foot tall and 12 feet long. It has cabinets on both sides, brass reading lamps and alot more. After compleating the bed it cost a little over $2,000.00 to build, but worth alot more. Everyone told us it was breautiful.      That was 8 or 9 years ago. We have built many things since then. If we see something we like and it can be built of wood, we build it. We finally gave Uncle David's tools a rest and purchased our ouw in Janunary 2000. When we walked out of Sears the salesman was smiling from ear to ear, because till we arrived he was having a slow day. I'd say we made his comission for the week.

I would like to thank Uncle David for letting us use his tools for the past years. We have built many many things with them. We passed his tools to another family member. Who is rebuilding their house. I hope they get the feeling that I got when I first heard the saw sing to me.

We love to work with wood, There are so many different styles and types of wood it is a challenge to see what we can build with it.
