~SUMMER SANITARIUM~ TOUR 2003
Montreal
well.... it was just so Good i don't know how to Start!! It was an Amazing Fucking Show!!
I was with my boyfriend and two friends (can you believe he gave me a ticket for free!?).Besides the fact that we got to Parc Jean Drapeau around 11:45am, we walked, i say seriously, about half an hour to the end of the line just to wait almost three hours in line under the burning sun. It was pretty cool tho- we played hacky and often accidently hit strangers in the head with it, and laughed at people who walked into horse poo as they were looking up in the fucking clouds or somewhere out there (there were horses with police on them that passed sometimes) and we had Food! YEAH.

Mudvayne started it off with a good tune but unfortunately most people were not warmed up enough to start moshin around so that was a downer as they started at 3pm (as announced) without waiting for the people in line desperately waiting to get in. Some people missed Mudvayne completely (they only played 30 minutes- we missed half of it). Deftones put everyone in the mood to start bashing about and that's when i joined the mosh pit - the fucking SAND pit sent eveyone home half-asthmatic at the end of the night. They couldn't play anything better than "my own summer" with the adrenaline-packed chorus "Shove it!". Everyone was going ballistic (and so was i) There was So Much fucking dirt, sand and dust everywhere everyone started wearing their 'hankies' and t-shirts like cowboys. I was *Filled* with dirt, sand and dust Everywhere. My boyfriend was kind enough to say i looked like i ate a factory of chocolate as i had brown shit all over my face (ha!) and was spitting brown shit all the time. I looked old as my hair was all grey... Still, I enjoyed Deftones So much (yeh, they Are my fave band and it was my first big rock concert) it was amazing! They played for a good 40-45 minutes if i'm not mistaken. I surely plan on going to see them next time they'll be on tour. Unfortunetly, it took Linkin park 45 minutes to set-up and that's when i got kicked on the side of the head by a body-surfer and already i was having breathing problems and almost passed out. Linkin park started but i wasn't moved At All so i left my fellow friends to take some cleaner air where everyone was sitting around in the back?. I wasn't much moved by Linkin park but i would have moshed to their two last songs if i was in the mood.

Limp Bizkit played next and really got everyone motivated and moving around. I wanted to kill the people i was with for not coming with me to where we were before (by the mosh pit) because Fred Durst started singing On people exactly there and i wasn't there... anyway, he played some good shit but i have to say, like many people, he is a *tad* bit too arrogant. We went back to the pit when Fred had three more songs left to sing and my boyfriend lifted me up so i could see them playing on the huge stage and these guys beside me started helping me up to body surf. My bf Stopped me! so i didn't get to body-surf (i really wanted to) but i might have gotten really hurt. Anyway. Another time. Metallica took over an Hour to set-up but that didn't frustrate anyone since it was "Metallica". Personally i was never a huge fan of Metallica but that in No Way means i don't like them; i DO like them - they have some amazing classics that will never be forgotten. And to prove that they played TWO fucking hours long, from old songs to some from "St Anger" and it was all amazing (with an extra plus for the fire and the fireworks). As my boyfriend humorously stated it, Metallica DID control the weather that day! There  was beautiful weather with three little showers to refresh the dehydrated. It all ended at 11pm (i'm pretty much sure) but that didn't mean we were Leaving anytime soon... I should have bought more snacks and drinks for the night... bleh.

We had waited over an hour hoping to get out of *just* the parking lot and that was too long, so we drove Out of the parking lot illegally (that means places were it's not meant for cars) but we made it out fine and probably saved one full fucking hour. By the next morning we were all on the verge of crying due to the slimy evacuation of dust and germs and dirt from our noses (haha), the sunburns on *their* faces and shoulders, the everlasting, ever-aching muscles and bruises on our bodies, and the broken feet. I'll finish by saying that with all that shit, it was still ComPletely worth it.
There is Nothing i regret except having not brought a camera.
