Before I sold Ben, me and a male friend that knows alot about horses went to look at a 4 year old, Bay, standardbred gelding, he would of been about 15.1 hh at the time, the young girl that own him told us to meet her at the railway station near where she lived.
Then after waiting about 10 minutes, we saw her riding this very leggie looking shaggie horse, he looked so down in the dumps that I felt sorry for him and bought him.
Later his breeder and trainers got my phone number from the girl I bought him from, and rang me up to see how he is going, I was told when he was being trained as a trotter he was very fast and they had big hopes for him in the racing world, but then when he was turned out to be spelled, he enjoyed it so much that he wouldn't race anymore, he decided it was to much work, so he was sold.
His racing name was 'Demolition Dancer' he was a true gentleman aswell, the guy I took with me to look at Jay Jay as I named him, bought him off me, as at the time I still had Ben, and I heard Jay Jay grow into a big healthy 16 hh+ horse. |
