Renewal
Does the
world sometimes seem overwhelming? Do you feel like you haven't
got a single purr left in you? All stressed out and no one to
swat? Well, if you're running on empty yourself, you don't have
much to give to others! We all have different ways of
"recharging our batteries." Here are ways some of our
members help themselves (and their humans). Maybe you'll find
something that works for you.
When I think that I need a little time to
myself, I like to retire to my little canopy bed that meowmie put
under the desk, she also gave me a basket of my favorite toys, my
rug that my Sweetie gave me and my favorite Sasauge toy. No one
bothers me (too much) when I go to my private space. No one
except maybe SassyJazmine, and she tries to crawl in with me, or
Right who wants to box with me, or Left who will want the bed
just because I am in there. But this is my favorite
"time-out" spot and I always feel better after a nice
little nap in my special place

How do I
recharge for the spring? Well, I have heard Meowmie say something
about working in the garden, pulling weeds, cutting back the
roses, and doing something called fertilizing. As for me, when
she opens the windows and we get to sleep there, the warm breeze
and fresh air tickles my nose. The sun feels great and makes me
very relaxed, so I feel rejuvenated when I come back to the
catputer.

Several times a day I go to
my meowmie and climb up on her lap and have a "purring
session." I purr and she pets me and tells me how
pretty I am. She tells me stories of how she found me and
brought me home, and other nice things we like remembering.
Usually my purr is so soft meowmie can't hear it but when it gets
loud enough for her to actually hear, she knows I am extra happy
and content. That makes her awfully happy when she hears me
purr loud enough for her to hear! When my meowmie's
grandmeowmie was living she always had at least one kitty and she
also enjoyed holding her kitty and petting it and hearing it purr
and meowmies grandfather used to say they were giving each other
therapy, and my meowmie says that is so true. Yes, kitties
and humans do a lot for each other!

We wrote this fur our web site, Tao of Meow, in
a humorous way, but it contains a lot of truth. It's called
"Meditation fur Hoomins" at http://www.oocities.org/wickedtwins/ashramwidgy.html
We also have some lake applets with meditations such as the one
at http://www.oocities.org/wickedtwins/med3.html
that are furry good to visit. They help Meowmie a lot, and we
think they will help ovfur hoomin beans, too.
And if they stroke us cats while looking at
these screens, they will feel even more stress go away. Peaceful

Here is one of my favorite things to do. That
is getting my belly full of Kitty Kisser Treats and then take a
nice long nap on top of the computer. I am always sure that it
will be nice and long, cauz meowmie is always playing around on
the puter, and safe because the Brat Boyz can't pester me when
meowmie is around and Jessie doesn't like the puter desk-top.
There are only a few things that I really love, and I can name
them on one paw. Meowmie, Kitty Kissers, Naps and Daddy Day-Late,
not always in that order. Valentines Day is for lovers, and I
don't have one of those, but I am thankful for my home, family
and very special friends. And thank you for letting me be part of
Purring Paws, sometimes a kitty just needs to purr.

This is how we recharge our batteries. We purr
and sleep! mol! And we purr to meowmie. :)

When
we get overwhelmed and need to recharge, we listen to
music. We know this sounds strange for kitties but we are
all brought up on Elvis Presley music and Meowmie plays it every
day. We lay in the livingroom and listen to his soft voice
(she plays mainly 70's slow songs). We think about
happy things and eventually drift off to sleep all refreshed and
relaxed. Purrs, Elvis, Sabrina,

Taking time out and purring by myself is the
best way for me to recharge. I sit in a yoga type position
and let my purr come into harmony. I recharge, so I can
face again all the purring the world needs.
Other ways are to lay on my balcony in
the beautiful sunshine in all my glory and let the sun give me
strength.
Another way is to join paws in a purr
chain with my furriends. This gives us all added strength
to continue purring for the needs of our troubled world.

There are several good methods that I use to
recharge my batteries. I purrsonally feel that a sunbeam is
the ultimate recharger!! :) It warms the body and the
spirit too. I go to the front room or dining room where I can
usually find a real good one, and curl up on a cushion and
meditate, with my eyes tightly closed. Another great place is our
upstairs bay window. In the afternoons it is wonderfully
sunny and warm up there, and there is a big dogwood tree right
outside and it's a great place to bird-watch! It'll be even
better soon when the snowy white blooms appear. I lounge in
the window seat and bask, I could stay there for hours. Then, I
go find Meowmie and see if I can recharge her batteries!! I
like to sit next to her in my special place on the couch or
stretch out on her legs. Meowmie and I have a special
relationship, I was her first kitty and she was my
midwife!! I love my Meowmie!!

Meow Meow, This has been a furry sad month with
losses. Sometimes my meowmie has a difficult time reading the
purr reports, as she starts to cry and mew feels sad when Claw
memfers and loved ones become ill and haf problems. To recharge,
we purr, and send cards. Then we cuddle and comfort each other.
Sometimes we will take a nap together. Then we can get up and
feel ready to face the world again. Purring really helps, as well
as support from all our furrinds and hoomans. Another way to
recharge is playtime. A time set aside to play and for my mommmie
to laugh. Laughter is great for recharging! One more thing we do
is look out side (course mommie gets to go outside for extended
periods of time..HMMMMMMMMM), and see how nature renews itself,
the buds turning into flowers, the butterflies, the birdies... A
good time for meditation and regrounding as mommie says.
Purr's Jewels Meow Cat.
I renew myself by laying on my cable box. The
other way I renew myself is by eatting.
Purrs, Bubba Taylor
Laying on the kitty tree and looking out the
window is the way I renew myself. The sun comes into the window
where my kitty tree is at and there are lots of birds for me to
watch. Also playing with my baby sister Sam help renew me.
There's also nothing like a bowl of food to help renew a kitty.
Purrs, Tabitha Taylor
Meowmie says I'm always renewed since I live my
life on high speed. If I need to renew myself, a nap helps me and
food cures everything.

I always get my
batteries recharged when I get on Mommy's belly. I
just purr and purr and she rubs me under my chin and when stops I
nudge her to do it somemore. Usually then I just cuddle in a ball
and it makes me feel so comfy and safe and good about
everything! Another way I get renewed is by looking at the
birdies out my window. I am real still so I don't disturb them
and then my mind is quiet thinking of peaceful and happy things
and when I come back to reality I am rejuvanated.
Zena
When
things get really stressful here, we bug Meowmie until she goes
outside and blows bubbles for us. It is so peaceful watching the
bubbles shimmer and float along on the breeze. We gather around
her and purr, and tell her to "put her troubles in the
bubbles and let them float away." In the winter time, she
has some catnip bubbles that she can blow inside for us that
won't stain anything.
