Ode to my friend
This week I'd like to write an ode to my friend Elizabeth Solis.

How did I meet her?
I met Elizabeth when I first moved to Cicero (back when it was prodominantly white) .

How long have I known her?
13 years - I was only a tike

Memorable moments:
Way too many to count, but I do remember when we would both ride are bikes all damn summer 'till 10 or 10:30 every day.  We had more freedom when we were little than now.  Oh and did you all know that Elizabeth had trouble pronouncing her R's when she was little?  It was so cute!! She couldn't say my name quite right so she would pronounce it "Kaw-ya" or "Kaw-yi-ta" (for Karlita).  Since then, my family nicknamed her Kallita. :-D And whenever she would come over to my house she would say that she could only stay for a little while, only she would pronounce it "I could only stay foe a liddle why-o".  My parents still mock her about it to this day. LOL
I also remember when I had a little wading pool, we were swimming in it and a little girl that lived a few houses away wanted to swim with us, so we let her.  After a while she got REALLY annoying and we decided to tell her to leave.  We told her that we had to go because
The Power Rangers was going to start.  We were big Power Ranger fans (the originals of course), but they started at 5 and it was only like 3 o'clock at the time.  We ended up making the little girl cry, and we laughed about it.  It was actually pretty funny because we were both bullies when we were little.  It seems kind of mean in retrospect, but, hey, lo que sera, sera.

Things she's helped me with and why she's memorable:
Elizabeth has ALWAYS supported me in everything.  She tells me her true opinion about every problem that I have.  If she doesn't like a decision that I make, she'll tell me.  But she always backs me up 100% and she never lets me down.  I've never known Elizabeth to lie to me about anything and that's something that I really appreciate about her.

Elizabeth and I went through LONG periods without speaking to eachother because we were upset about things that don't really seem important anymore.  But she has always been like my little sister, and I would defend her with my life, no matter what.  I hate seeing her upset and I hate the person who would ever even THINK of upsetting her.  I've always looked up to her, because she's made herself such a strong person.  She's the kind of girl that you will never see breakdown in front of anyone, ESPECIALLY about a guy.  She always pulls through her own problems, and I've always admired her independence.  She can pull her own weight and she'll be damned if anyone ever doubts her. She has never let anyone tell her what to do and she has gained respect because of it.  She is my Kallita.

And that was my ODE to my friend Elizabeth Karla Solis. MUAH!!!
