Ode to My Friend

This week (though it's been a while) I'm doing an ode to my best friend boyfriend Octavio Mendoza!

How did I meet him?
I actually first met Tavi when he was in eight grade and I was a freshman.  His brother introduced me to him when he was by his locker and I was on my way to the cafeteria.  We actually got to know eachother in theatre during the Little Shop production.  It was through theatre that we got really close.  He became my one of my best friends almost immediately after our Guys and Dolls production.  The beginning of our actual known interest in each other was during the Theatre Festival, 2003.  We labeled one picture that was taken there as "The Beginning."

How long have I know him?
Since I met him when I was a freshman, I suppose I've KNOWN him for about 5 years, but I actually got to know him WELL at the end of 2002, so that would be 2 years.

Memorable Moments
Aside from all the wonderful moments that Octavio and I have had throughout our relationship, our friendship had SOOO many memorable moments as well.  We actually had this dorky inside joke where we insult each other be saying "Antidisestablishmentarianism"  and for an even bigger insult we add "Propaganda"  the original point of this has totally slipped my mind, but it's still funny....Yeah... guess you had to be there...
Anyway,  we also have a crap load of memories from our AP Chem class my senior year.  We would toss popcorn at each other and catch it in our mouths and we would even get fancy with it and make them bounce off the wall simultaniously... We got pretty good at it, if I do say so myself.
We would also mix drinks in Chem class.  We mixed Pepsi and orange soda and other liquids and Tavi would taste it.  One time Christian drank some of what we mixed together and he actually LIKED it.  That was kinda gross.
AND we would try to flip bottle caps into cups. Come to think of it, we would get very little done in that class.  Awww, sorry Ms. Castello.
Tavi and I also were leaders together.  We led Mr. Drews's class and I'd always try to aggravate Tavi.  He was usually pretty patient with me, but he got mad at me once when I tried to hit him with a tennis ball that was hanging on a rope by the pool.  He also kicked me and Crystal Vela's ASS in basketball all by himself.  We sooo sucked!  And I would kick his ass in volleyball, cuz that's my sport.! hehehe... He was awesome to Pepper with though. (Pepper is the term used when two people bumb, set and spike the ball to each other back and forth in that order).
We also have a whole lot of memories in theatre because we spent sooo much time there.  All of it was just wonderful... God, I love this guy....

Things he's helped me with and why he's memorable
Tavi proved himself to me to be one of the most unselfish human beings I have ever met.  He helped me through so many emotional hardships that I went through in the time that we've been friends.  He has had feelings for me (and I for him) for those 2 years and he was able to set that aside and give me advice as a caring friend.  He hasn't stopped supporting me in everything I do, no matter what it is.  He's the crutch that I lean on most in my life.  He has given everything he could to me, and he won't stop putting all his effort into keeping me in his life.  I wouldn't give him up for the world.  I have never had anyone do what he does for me. It's because of this that I would never hesitate to do anything for him as well. I would literally give my life for him if I had to.  Even though he's now my boyfriend, he hasn't stopped being that wonderful friend that I've had for so long.  He was always there for me when I needed him, and even when I didn't.  He was my life line when things were just horrible in my life and he never let me forget it.  He would always remind me that he was there for me, and that I would never be alone. He's the only guy on this planet that has ever been there everytime I've had a problem and he would do anything to stop my tears.  I've grown to trust him with everything I tell him and with everything I do. He has never given me a reason not to, and I KNOW he never will.
Everything he's ever done is engraved in my head and contibutes to the many reasons why I'm so in love with him.  I will never forget anything he's done for me. I intend to marry him for every single one of those reasons.

Tavi wears his heart on his sleeve. He used to be the type of guy to bottle up a lot of things because he thought it was best, but he has gotten to the point where he won't hide his feelings about certain things.  If it affects his life, he'll let you know. I admire that quality about him because there are very little people who are able to do that.
He also has a way of expressing himself that seems so heartfelt and truthful, even if it's what you don't want to hear. His mind is not only the source of his intelligence but also the source of his power. Everyone knows that Tavi is the type of guy that will get sooo far in life and can have whatever he wants.  He has developed a demeanor that exudes confidence. There are very little people that can say that about themselves.

One last thing about Tavi is that he truly lives up to his favorite quote in the best way he can...
Cogito Ergo Sum.

That was my ode, to my love and best friend, Octavio Mendoza.

Next: ...I dunno, I'll let ya know... I'm bad at keeping these things up!
