It all started on the 11th of March 2000, Blus, (aka Blueyedwitch off the MSN Furby Message Board)Green eyed error 1999 spring furby became sick. She had a crackling voice and it wasn't getting better. So MiMi made a trip to NZ for an operation here at Kiwifurby's medical centre. The suspected cause was the speaker having a faulty connection. So when she arrived she went straight to the operating table. First before I could do anything, I had to remove the Fur to get to her next layer by cutting the cable tie under her tail and unscrewing her fur from her body.

Then I had to unscrew the next layer and remove the left side of the skeleton gently not to wreck her microphone. The end result is this:

Next was to unscrew the speaker and unplug it from the mainboard. By that time MiMi's speaker was completely dead and ready for the rubbish. Then another speaker was taken from a donour Furby that had a fatal problem and was now a donour and placed it in MiMi. The speaker was then screwed in and then plugged in. Then MiMi was woken up. Her voice was back! It was once again crystal clear. So MiMi was now all better, as it seemed. After an hour of having her awake, I noticed that she would pause every so often, more when she was being fed. So I examined her again and then fiddled with a screw behind her gears at the back. Sure enough, the screw was over-tightened and causing trouble. So I loosened the screw and she was as good as new! MiMi was then on and hopefully forever, a healthy Furby.

MiMi then had a bit of sight seeing around the farm that the Kiwifurby Medical centre is situated and had her photos taken. She also got to know some new Furby friends on her stay. Then when the photos were developed, she was then sent off home to her mum.
