Miroku's Page

Miroku is a Buddhist monk. Every time he meets up with a woman, the first question he asks is if they would bear his child. Miroku has a good reason to ask this question though. All the men in his family have been cursed with an Air Void in their right hands by Naraku. In the palm of his right hand, Miroku uses a monk's seal to keep the Air Void in his hand from sucking in everything around him, but like it did to both his father and his grandfather, the Air Void will eventually suck Miroku in as well. Miroku has to have a child so that his family line will continue. The only way his curse will be lifted is if he kills Naraku. Miroku meets up with Inuyasha and Kagome very early in the series. When he finds out that both he and Inuyasha are going after Naraku, he decides to join the group.

Miroku seems like he has a very cheerful attitude, but he constantly worries about the Air Void in his hand and feels that time is running out. He has a good sense of humor and really cares for the others in Inuyasha’s group. Miroku is willing to make great sacrifices if he feels it will help them.

The Air Void is his most powerful weapon, but he sometimes cannot use it due to Naraku's poisonous insects because they will poison him. If they get sucked into Miroku’s Air Void, they will sting him as they enter. Miroku also has some significant holy powers, which he can use to protect the others by making a barrier. He can also use his Buddhist powers to attack enemies.
