Naraku is the ultimate bad guy in the show. Some people may find him attractive, but he is just plain evil and seems to not care for anything except for himself. Naraku was made as a result of the joining of a lot of youkai and a human named Onigumo. Onigumo is a mountain thief who had been seriously burned and this is the spider scar that is shown on Narakus back. Onigumo was being taken care of by Kikyou and Kaede. This was when Kaede was a small child. Onigumos love for Kikyou caused him to allow youkai to consume his evil body and make him become Naraku. Naraku, who still has some of this feeling for kkkyou although he wont admit it, causes trouble for people all over. Naraku was the one who tricked Kikyou into believing that Inuyasha had betrayed her and that Kikyou had betrayed Inuyasha. He did this by changing his shape to look like Inuyasha and attacking Kikyou when she had brought the Shikon no Tama for the real Inuyasha to use. Naraku's goal is to gather all the Shikon shards and become a full youkai, so that he can become all powerful. Like Inuyasha, Naraku is also a Hanyou.
Naraku is the type of person who lets others do his work for him. His detachments terrorize and attack the Inuyashas group and try to steal their Shikon shards while Naraku just stays behind and plotting new traps. He hates the human blood inside of him and only wants for more power.
Naraku has many different powers. He can regenerate body parts, control many youkai, fly anywhere he wants, generate youkai detachments from himself, form miasmas, and hide his headquarters from the Inuyasha group using his evil magic. Inuyasha also uses a Kugutsu or puppet to spy on Inuyasha while he stays at his headquarters.
