A WORK IN PROGRESS
This is one of the Marty Bell old english cottages in progress...
You start on a plain piece of aida cloth. This particular one is 18 count (which means for every inch there are 18 stitches across and 18 rows of work...that is 384 stitiches to the inch!) *yikes* this is a 20 x 24" peice of art! (NO I AM NOT NUTS)

This is a close up of a square I am working on...you will see by the graph below that it is easier to work in small sections, and work clockwise so you are not fondling the work too much! Some people work with hoops and frames, I don't.

Showing a little more work. Some detail is added after the cross stitching is completed...like outlining in the thatching of the roof!

This is the chart. This particular stichery has 107 colours...*S*
...each colour is assigned a colour number (by manufacturer - I prefer DMC floss) and a symbol. You follow the chart and highlight your stitches as you complete them.
(It is really relaxing and you have such a sence of accomplishment after you have completed a piece of art)
