“Stop playing with Angelo dela Cruz’s life!”-KMP

The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) castigated the regime of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for imposing the news black out even on the relatives of Angelo dela Cruz and for not clarifying if the RP contingent has indeed started their pull-out from Iraq. Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of the group said that “the hardships of Angelo and his relatives are already enough and they should know the truth and the government should not try to bribe them to be silent,”

Reports coming from different media outfits confirm that a house and lot as well as cash was given to the relatives of Angelo in Mexico, Pampanga.

As for the pull out of RP troops in Iraq, Ramos called on the government to clarify its statement of its detail because this may cause another snag in Angelo’s freedom and safety if any duplicity was done.

“But all in all, maybe it is the first time that the regime of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo heeded the call of the people, though of course she is thinking of her hold to power which is in danger and we hope that the decision is not too late,” added Ramos.

The group also demanded that the detained rallyists calling for the pull out of RP troops in Iraq, which police violently dispersed, be immediately released. The policemen involved as well as their commanding officers should also be punished.

“The government must now resolutely follow the will of the people and not that of the US, Poland nor Australia. Its mandate though questionable is from the Filipino people and not from other countries. It must stand by its decision and bring Angelo back alive,” ended Ramos. # # #
