The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) along with its local chapter the Alyansa ng Manggagawang-Bukid sa Asyenda Luisita (AMBALA) once again lambasted the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) for placing the 10 baranggays in the Luisita estate under a zoning scheme. According to Ka Willy Marbella, spokesperson of KMP, “they acted just after Coun. Abel Ladera was assassinated and buried because they know that he would oppose the move and show its real purpose and that is to terrorize the residents of the estate,”

“This also strengthens our case against the NOLCOM and the Cojuangco-Aquinos  as being behind the assassination of Ladera. They are the ones directly to benefit for it and now their actions are speaking for itself. Their dastardly plan has been exposed by their own actions,” added the peasant leader,”

Meanwhile, Rodelson “Ka Rodel” Mesa, spokesperson of AMBALA, “the movements of the military and the police became heightened when Ka Abel was buried the other day. As a matter of fact they have transported more than a 100 military and policemen inside the hacienda yesterday at about 5:20 pm. They entered aboard two military trucks through the west gate and the trucks returned, already empty afterwards,”

“This augmented the present military and police force already in the hacienda. Now they are starting their zoning operations to frighten the people from going to the picket lines. If anything untoward happens again in the hacienda we have no one else to blame but the NOLCOM and the Cojuangcos, for as we know they are the roots of evil in the estate,” ended Mesa. # # #
