The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) aired its fearless forecast on the upcoming ouster of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo because of jueteng and her anti-people policies. 

According to Ka Willy Marbella, deputy secretary general for internal affairs of KMP, “just like Joseph Estrada’s ouster the illegal numbers game may play a very significant role in the ouster of his successor Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The expose’ of a police officer regarding three relatives of a top government official, codenamed M1, M2 and JS7 receive large amounts of jueteng payola monthly, is nothing new but one thing is noteworthy though, now someone from the inside has the balls to talk about it and we are encouraging the police officer to testify in the Senate, in Congress and in court, regarding this matter,”

“We would also beg to differ with Rep. Nograles’ statement that “they are hitting the First Gentleman because they cannot find any fault in President Macapagal-Arroyo. The popularity rating of the president will speak for itself, it seems that no president has been so unpopular in the history of our country since PGMA. She is at rock bottom and it seems that she wants to stay there with her anti-poor and repressive policies,”

As for his part Carl Anthony Ala, public information officer of the group, “now Malacanang is on a damage control mode and will do anything to silence this police officer. Just look at their effort on how to downplay the issue, saying that it is a mere rumor. Yet when you trace the connections between the country’s biggest jueteng lords like Bong Pineda with the Macapagal-Arroyo family then you will see how close they are in politics and in “business”. The Macapagal-Arroyos’ serve as protectors and the jueteng lords have the freedom to continue and even expand their business”

“This issue has the potential to snowball into a massive protest movement against corruption and call for the ouster of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for being involved in such activities, indeed she is even worse than Erap. We are also studying the possibility of filing an impeachment case versus the president on these grounds,” ended Ala. # # #
