The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) lambasted the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) for manufacturing yet another black propaganda material titled the Trinity of War (Book III), designed to malign and demonize legal people’s organizations. According to Ka Willy Marbella, internal deputy secretary of KMP, “ the book is but the printed and updated version of the “Knowing the Enemy: Are we missing the point?” video presentation. Its main purpose is to justify the recent attacks being done against people’s organizations and media. To date there are now 36 activists and 6 journalists killed by the military and its cohorts in a span of 4 ½ months. “As for Lt. Gen. Romeo Dominguez’s claim that the book was based on “thorough research by people whose integrity in the service is beyond reproach” is very dubious at the least, considering that the one talking was involved in the Lamitan hostage scam and was rumored to be in connivance with the Abu Sayyaf and let them escape in exchange for millions of pesos,” added the peasant leader. Meanwhile Carl Anthony Ala, public information officer of the group said “ KMP has yet again been named as a front organization of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) by the NOLCOM, and we categorically deny this. This is a grave injustice and harassment of our 1.2 million members nationwide. If the NOLCOM has any evidence to prove this then present it in court, do not grand stand in media,” “We are now studying the filing of a libel suit against the NOLCOM and the ISAFP to stop this baseless accusation and we are enjoining all the other organizations named in the Knowing the Enemy video as well the Trinity of War book to come forward and join us in filing a proposed class suit,” The KMP along with its chapters is mentioned on pages 281, 293, 301 and a slew of other pages as well as on a matrix at the latter part of the book. “The book is indeed accusing the named
organizations of conniving with the CPP-NPA-NDF, saying that they are front
organizations and serve this purpose in the context of the protracted people’s
war, being launched. This is a lot of rubbish and if ever it gets into
bookstores we ask the public to boycott it,” ended Ala. # # #
