“Anti-Arroyo forces are growing by the day!”-KMP

The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) at the giant protest teach-in in Plaza Miranda declared that as the days pass by more and more sectors of our society are seeing the truth and are becoming anti-Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

According to Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of KMP, “ we are conscious of this development and we are now exerting all our efforts to reach more of our country-men who has not heard of the truth regarding the Gloriagate tapes. Today we are holding a giant teach-in with students and other sectors, tomorrow we will be in Ayala to hold a protest action and for the business sector to see that the one holding back our economy is Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo herself,”

“By staying in Malacanang in spite of her admission that she talked with a COMELEC official during the counting of the votes as well as widespread clamor for her to resign, she is the biggest roadblock to economic recovery. If Gloria stays in power all this political turmoil will only escalate until she is booted out from Malacanang, The political crisis has already reached that stage and she has no other option. Even if she exiles her whole clan, it will be to no avail,” added the peasant leader.

Meanwhile Rene “Ka Boyet” Galang, president of the United Luisita Workers Union (ULWU) and the Unyon ng Manggagawa sa Agrikultura (UMA) expressed the wholehearted support of the striking farm workers of Hacienda Luisita to the call of Ms. Susan Roces for Gloria to resign from office, “we have always believed that it would be impossible for us to attain justice during the term of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. She is in fact the one who gave the go signal to DOLE Sec. Patricia Sto. Tomas to issue an Assumption of Jurisdiction (AJ) of the strike and caused the Hacienda Luisita massacre,”

“Let it be known that we will use all our might to oust Gloria. She is the bane of the peasantry as well as the whole country,” ended Galang.
In last year’s election Fernando Poe Jr. won by a landslide in Hacienda Luisita that has 33,000 inhabitants. # # #
