The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) issued its support to the call of the Young Officers Union (YOU) to oust Gloria from Malacanang and said that the announcement is long awaited. According to Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of KMP, “this shatters Gloria’s propaganda that the military and the police are solidly behind her. With this opening salvo, other military and police groups are bound to follow their example and call for Gloria’s ouster. The primary base of Gloria is now crumbling under her feet. Her fate is sealed,”

“If the YOU wishes to join our protest-actions then they are welcome to do so as long as they will not bring their weapons and they are solidly for civilian supremacy. We also enjoin them to defend the Filipino people from other military groups who would take action to subvert the will of the masses,” added the peasant leader.

“We also challenge the young officers to tell all of what they know of Gloria’s insidious activities, so that once and for all nobody would doubt that Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is indeed a despicable gecko (tuko) in the Palace,” said Ramos,

Meanwhile Ka Willy Marbella, internal deputy secretary general of KMP said, “this is more than a wake up call for Gloria and she should leave Malacanang now, all sectors of society are already against her. Nobody believes her anymore and everybody wants her to be booted out. What support is she boasting off now?”

“She should now face the music because her end is near, better to leave now and bring Noli with her because he would also not be accepted by the people. The only plausible and meaningful alternative to this corrupt and rotten regime is the transition council, that would implement sweeping reforms for the betterment of the majority of Filipinos,” ended Marbella. # # #
