“Bring in the muscle and fear, means kill the militants”-KMP

The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) exposed that the calibrated preemptive response policy of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, simply means to silence her critics by any means. According to Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of KMP, “with this new policy it is usually us and the marginalized masses who bear the brunt of these attacks. Even without the new policy, 4207 human rights violations have been committed by the Macapagal-Arroyo regime since she assumed power in January 2001, this affected 232,796 individuals, 24, 299 families, and 237 communities. This also includes 400 victims of summary executions and 110 desaparacidos,”

“In fact right after the declaration of this pre-emptive policy last September 21, goons of the Marcos-Araneta clan who are known to be striking a deal with Gloria, uprooted the crops of farmers under the Alyansa ng Magbubukid sa Bulacan-San Jose del Monte Chapter. Last September 22, Ding Fortuna, chairperson of striking Nestle Union as well as PAMANTIK-KMU-ST, was shot and killed by military agents in Laguna. All the victims of these harassments are members of militant organizations calling for Gloria’s ouster,” added the peasant leader.

Meanwhile Carl Anthony Ala, public information officer of KMP, “as for the so-called planned government take-over of key private industries is nothing but a pathetic ploy to divert the people’s attention from Gloria’s use of the iron fist against her critics as well, as to keep businessmen in check so as not to support moves to oust her,”

“With former DSWD Dinky Soliman’s revelation that Gloria has already planned this since early July, we have a scenario here of a piecemeal martial rule, and we are the first targets,” ended Ala. # # #
