The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) called Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago’s bluff yesterday saying she will shoot herself right in the Senate session hall if her statements regarding the Gloria assassination plot constituted a “clear and present danger,” 

According to Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of KMP, “we must teach the senator that you must always keep your word and every utterance is reflective of who and what you are. She cannot just say something and then backtrack when proven wrong. She should be held responsible for her statements,”

“If I remember correctly Sen. Santiago also made a similar statement a few years ago and when asked by media, why she did not do her promise to shoot herself or jump from a plane, she said with a straight face “I lied!” and laughed hysterically. Is this how a senator of the Republic of the Philippines should behave?” asked the peasant leader.

Meanwhile Ka Willy Marbella, internal deputy secretary general of the group said, “it is these types of solons which makes Philippine institutions laughing stocks. For what its worth they provide comic relief, but that is not their job. Their job is to serve the Filipino people, not to amuse us nor to defend a fake president,”

“We are not really that harsh, though as to have Sen. Santiago shoot herself, but when she is proven wrong then we advise her to commit herself to the mental institution in Mandaluyong City. Her Cory-Drilon conspiracy theory to assassinate Gloria is beyond doubt, a product not just by a wild imagination, it is a product of lunacy,” ended Marbella. # # #
