The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) issued this challenge to former Department of Agriculture executives Cito Lorenzo and Jocelyn Bolante who are both in the US evading investigations regarding the P728 million-fertilizer scam. According to Danilo "Ka Daning" Ramos, secretary general of KMP, ''If indeed they are not hiding, then they should make themselves available to either or both the Senate investigation and/or the Citizen's Congress for Truth and Accountability. Even if not in these fora we are willing to face them anywhere so as to finally shed light on the matter," "There will be another session of the Citizen's congress next week as well a another Senate hearing, we will be waiting for them there. They will forever be tagged as fugitives if they continue to evade these investigations," added the peasant leader. Meanwhile Ka Willy Marbella, internal deputy secretary general of the group said, "in more than a year these two former DA officials have dodged our queries especially Bolante. The Rotary Club should expel him from their ranks because Bolante has miserably failed their 4-way test," "The first two questions in the 4-way Rotary Test, is it the truth, and is it fair to all concerned has definitely been disregarded by Bolante meriting his expulsion from the group. We are now asking Rotary International president Carl Wilhelm Stenhammar to purge Bolante from their ranks or they will be accused of coddling a fugitive,” ended Marbella. # # # KMP - 10 November 2005 |
