The largest and most militant peasant organization in the country the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) and its local chapter the Alyansa ng Manggagawang-bukid sa Asyenda Luisita (AMBALA) that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is using the rabid anti-communist group Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy (ANAD) for their intelligence and monitoring of militant leaders in Hacienda Luisita.

 According to Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of KMP, “our members in the hacienda reported that when they saw Jun Alamo on TV being hauled out of the Citizen’s Congress for Truth and Accountability (CCTA) they immediately identified him as the one who introduced himself as a Sgt. Fernandez when he was looking for the union officials living in Brgy. Balete last October. He was in civilian clothes then but has a 45-caliber pistol accompanying him were 2 soldiers in full battle gear, they were onboard a white owner-type jeep,”

“When he was thrown out of the CCTA last November 8 for disrupting the proceedings, he identified himself as Jun Alamo of the ANAD. Now why does he have 2 identities, a civilian, and a military one? The NOLCOM and the AFP should explain this, why is he also armed? The collusion between the AFP and the ANAD is beyond doubt very dubious and is being used to target our leaders. We would not be surprised if they are doing this on a national level and not just in Luisita, We think that the ANAD is connected and instrumental in the political killings against our ranks,” added the peasant leader.

Meanwhile Rene “Ka Boyet” Galang, president of the United Luisita Worker’s Union (ULWU) and AMBALA said, “This is definitely connected with the recent harassments being done by the military on the picket-line and in the baranggays in the plantation. Just yesterday, they arrested 11 strikers from our picket line in Brgy. Balete,”

“This is also the reason why the military and the so-called M/Sgt. Fernandez aka Jun Alamo is always looking for me, because I am their next target. He should immediately be investigated as well the NOLCOM,” ended Galang. # # #
