HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 10 YEARS FROM NOW?
A seemingly easy question to answer. But can you answer it with conviction?
It is ideal to start evaluating your future as early as your first year in high school. But even if you are already in college and you feel you have a different calling, then it is not too late.
Here are some tips to consider in choosing what your future should look like.
1. EXPLORE YOUR TALENT
- It is easy to build a career around something
you do best. If you have the natural talent for a particular
career, then you a distinct advantage against others who would need
time to develop the same skills.
- Do you love talking? Are
you spontaneous? Can you tell never ending stories? Then you have
good chances of becoming a great disc jockey or news anchor, etc.
- Do you have a strong character? Is it difficult to intimidate
you? Are you born with leadership qualities? Then you have the potential
to be a lawyer
- Take advantage of your talent. However, don’t
seat on it. Develop it further. Explore it!!!
2. DO WHAT YOU LOVE and
ALL ELSE WILL FOLLOW
- When you do what you love, you put your heart,
your soul and your passion. You will go the extra mile even without
pay. Hard work leads to great results. And in the end, your efforts
will eventually be financially rewarded.
- And even if you do
not have the natural talent to do what you love, you will eventually
become good at it because PASSION and DESIRE is always better than
TALENT.
3. CONSIDER FINANCIAL SECURITY
FOR YOU and YOUR FAMILY
- Now comes the tricky part. Maybe you have the
talent. Maybe you love what you do. But can it feed your family?
Can it send your children to school? OF COURSE!!!
- We just
have to find ways of using our talent and energy into profitable
endeavors.
- Are you a good artist? Do you love painting? They
say artist don’t have stable source of income. Of course not!!!
- Don’t just concentrate on painting. One of the most in-demand
jobs now is industrial designers. These are creative and talented
artist who makes cutting edge designs of cell phones, televisions,
cars, etc.
- Do you love music? Do you love to play the guitar?
- If you are good playing one instrument, its easy to learn
another. Don’t stop at one or two instruments.
- TV shows,
commercials and movies need musical scorers. They are paid big bucks
- Just have to be creative in finding ways of using your talent
to find rewarding money.
