Churches in Surabaya to get guards for Christmas
JAKARTA (Antara): Two-thirds of Surabaya's police force would be on Christmas duty,
the city's police chief, Sr. Comr. Eddy Kusuma Wijaya said on Sunday.
The police will be deployed to safeguard all 332 Christian churches in Indonesia's
second largest city during the Christmas season, Eddy said.
All 15 Roman Catholic churches and 317 Christian Protestant churches in the capital
of the Muslim stronghold province of East Java will get police guards for the period, he
