Koi will require more attention than other pond fish, and you will have to spend more time maintaining and cleaning the equipment. Koi could described as king of the pond fish, but their large size and fondness for uprooting and eating vegetation make them a difficult fish to keep in planted pools. |
Neutral, moderately hard one of the most tolerant fish species. They will survive in almost water conditions or temperatures. Providing teh pond is deep enough, koi will live through most winters. |

Koi are ideal for a large, deep pond of 10,000 liters (2,200 gallons) or more. They can be kept in smaller ponds, but soon will outgrow them. |
Koi are Social fish and do not worry other, fish, allthough very small fish may be eaten accidentally when the koi are surface feeding, as they cannot see in front of their mouths. |

Ideal Conditions |
The five types of scales are: 1. The fully scaled fish wherein the fish is covered with scales. 2. Fish where the scales essentially are found only on the back, almost symmetrical on both sides of the dorsal fin. These fish are called Mirror Carp. 3. Fish where the scales are found along the back as in the Mirror Carp, as well as along the lateral line. These may be refered to as "striped carp" or Zipper. 4. Fish which there are no scale at all are called "leather carp". 5. Fish which random exaggerated scales strewn about their bodies; these are still refered to as "German Carp. |
