Junior Club
  Hello,

To all of you prospective teachers out there who are looking for an
honest and rewarding experience in Korea, you should avoid JUNIOR CLUB in
Kyoung-Ju-run by PARK HEE-SUK. She seems nice (and don't they all) but
she will screw you in all the regular and then some feindish (9% tax for
starters) ways, whether you are "on to" her or not.
In the last five years only 2 of 7 teachers have finished contracts
with this privately owned small school and neither has received severance,
and all that I have contacted (5) have given very negative reports of their
experiences, including entering the apartment when the teacher is at
work, questioning personal habits and lifestyle preferences and lying about
dissatisfaction on behalf of parents to get the teachers to accept
lower wages as a punishment for doing a less than acceptable job.
I myself (quit/was fired) for intervening when an argument between the
director and a Korean teacher turned violent. I told PARK HEE-SUK that
I would not and could not continue to work under such circumstances and
was told in no uncertain terms that a relative of hers worked at
immigration and that, rest assured I would never be allowed in Korea again unless I
apologized for my "outburst". Ofcourse I told her I could not accept
such dictactorial terms and walked away, She reported "fired" to the
authorities and I call it "quiting", either way it's an ugly situation that fits
right in with the history of this school. Afterwards I was told by a friend
that the director had accused me of doing damage to the building the night I
left--(another police-immigration tactic.)
Avoid this place, you can find directors who will be fare if you are
fare with them, this women will screw anyone in her path.
