Toda-ha Buko-ryu Naginatajutsu
Toda-ha Buko-ryu is a classical tradition which includes majority of instruction
in the application of naginata (a weapon akin to a halberd), as well as
the use of weapons ranging from yari (spear) to kusarigama
(chain and sickle).
Two students of Nitta Suzuo-Soke, present grandmaster of the system in
Tokyo, are presently leading schools in Australia: Bill Fettes-sensei and
Liam Keeley-sensei.
Bill Fettes-sensei (Adelaide, SA) practices Toda-ha Buko-ryu Naginata, along with seperate practice in Shindo Muso-ryu Jodo, Tomiki-style Aikido, and Chinese martial arts, which he has spent several
