Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu

The practice of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu (founded by Hayashizaki Jinsuke Minamoto Shigenobu), which centres on "iaijutsu" (perhaps suitably described as drawing and cutting with the Japanese sword) is conducted by several groups throughout Australia.

Antony Karasulas-sensei (QLD/NSW/ACT) is the representative of Komei Juku in Australia (headed internationally by his teacher, Sekiguchi Komei-sensei), with branches in NSW (Sydney and Armidale), Queensland (Toowoomba and Townsville), and from 2004 in the ACT (Canberra). Sherman Lee-sensei (6th Dan) and Tom Kovac-sensei (5th Dan), trained by Ishibe Hiroshi-sensei 8th dan and head of the Setouchi Central Eishinkan, lead training in Adelaide. For more information please contact Mr. Vlad Gobin (3rd Dan) on (08) 8235 9756.

Glenn Stockwell-sensei (Gold Coast, QLD), a 7th dan practitioner trained by Yasuyoshi Kimura-Sensei of Osaka's Meishinkan, is the chief instructor of the Meishinkan organisation in Australia with branches in Queensland (Brisbane and the Gold Coast), New South Wales (Sydney) and Victoria (Melbourne). Matthew Whittle-sensei (6th Dan) of the Eishinkan organisation is presently leading a dojo in Melbourne, Victoria.
