The practice of Muso
Jikiden Eishin Ryu (founded by Hayashizaki Jinsuke Minamoto Shigenobu), which
centres on "iaijutsu" (perhaps suitably described as drawing and cutting with
the Japanese sword) is conducted by several groups throughout Australia.
Antony Karasulas-sensei (QLD/NSW/ACT) is the representative of Komei Juku in Australia (headed internationally by his teacher, Sekiguchi Komei-sensei), with branches in NSW (Sydney and Armidale), Queensland (Toowoomba and Townsville), and from 2004 in the ACT (Canberra). Glenn Stockwell-sensei (Gold Coast, QLD), a 7th dan practitioner
trained by Yasuyoshi Kimura-Sensei of Osaka's Meishinkan, is the chief
instructor of the Meishinkan organisation in Australia with branches in
