SELF-INTRODUCTION

¡¡

It¡¯s my pleasure to introduce myself to you.

After graduating from master's course in Pusan National University, and then I have studied about 4 years in Japan since 1997. In that time, the Ministry of Education of Japan awarded me a scholarship named as Bunnbushou Kokuhi Shougakukinn in Japanese. And on behalf of graduates, the president of Yokohama National University directly gave me a doctor¡¯s degree of engineering on march 27, in this year.

In my master¡¯s course, my main research interests were the stochastic analysis of ocean waves and response of offshore structures, and the random analysis of slow-drift motion. I had also been involved in collaborative research in this topic with professor S.H. Kwon and laboratory members since 1993.

In my doctoral course, I have started the topic of the Interrelationship Among The Long-Term Wave Databases and Their Unification in Japan, because, for the design of ships or offshore structures, a reliable database of long-term waves is very important.

I was also in Japan as an "Invited Researcher" since 2001.4.

¡¡

Nowadays, I am a senior researcher in Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. since 2001.12..

     .....

     Thank you!
