Theme:  I AM AT THE DOOR

Dear Paul, Rita and Friends,
Greetings on this cold and partly cloudy day! I celebrated Holy Mass at
Tignish Parish yesterday morning as the parish priest had to go to
Charlottetown for a funeral. I went to see my diabetes nurse in the
afternoon and she was happy to know that my sugars were down to 6. I
attended the prayer meeting last evening at the Palmer Road Church. The
group is growing all the time with great music and plenty of sharing.

I spent 30 minutes in prayer with Jesus this morning. He spoke to me
saying, "Melvin, my friend, I love you. Open your heart to my word this
morning. My people, I want to revive you from your stupor. Many of you
go through the motions of praying and serving me but your heart is not
in it. You have made too many compromises with human nature and with the
evil one. Satan has lulled you to sleep but I am coming to wake you up.
Do not be a slave to routine because you are not a machine. I want to
transform you from within by changing your heart. My dear brothers and
sisters, a new era is beginning when I will turn your hearts to me and
the Holy Spirit will come with power. I am shaking my church now so that
she will be ready for the work I will give her. My Vicar, the Pope, is
working hard to bring the Church to the true path traced out by me.
Submit to his wise decisions and pray for him that he always remains
strong. Much work still needs to be done. May faith and love prevail and
discipline be restored in my Church. I am at the door ready to begin
this new era. I love you all."

Jesus speaks about the new era which is about to begin. He tells us that
He is at the door. He sees that the Church has deviated from the right
path in some places and she has to be brought back. We saw this when the
Pope put a stop to general absolution which caused much harm to the
Church. There are still other areas that need attention such as the
education material for children and youth, the proper reverence for the
Eucharistic Lord in the tabernacle, a greater atmosphere of prayer at
Mass. The Church has approved the permanent diaconate in the Church. Why
should male and female pastoral assistants be needed? The Deacons are
ordained for this work. We have this terrible scandal in Quebec where
one or more pastoral assistants have invalidly baptized nearly 300
infants. The Pope indeed is working hard to bring the Church back to her
rightful path. We are called to accept his wise decisions. Jesus wants
that faith and love may blossom in His Church and that discipline be
restored. There is a purification taking place in the Church so that she
will be able to play the role that Jesus wants of her.

Let us rededicate ourselves to the Lord as we open the door of our
hearts to Him.

Father Melvin
