LEAVING MY MARK I want to leave my mark on this earth in the poems and stories I write. I want them to know that I played a part in softly touching someone's heart. I'll leave my footprints in the sands of time away from the sea's angry roll, etch my name in the old hickory tree for future generations to behold. I want to leave some memories in photographs so they will remember you see, a legacy of pictures, thoughts and words will be a gift to them from me. I'll not be remembered by the wealth I possessed not by treasures of silver nor gold I'll just be remembered by my love of words and the many stories I've told. |
