The next several days passed slowly for Relena. She spent most of her time in the small room given to her, only coming out to grab something to eat or to talk to Duo. From what the braided man told her, she found that Heero had gone away again- the only reason she hadn't run into him in the corridors.
On the fifth day of her imprisonment, she was eating lunch with Duo, when he leaned over the table and inspected her clothing. "Those are the same clothes you've been wearing since you got here."
Relena rolled her eyes. "It's not like I have any other clothes here."
"True. Hey, wanna go shopping?"
"I thought guys hated shopping."
Duo grinned. "Well, I do, but you need clothes, and I'm sure Wufei and Trowa wouldn't take you."
Relena agreed and asked with an eager smile, "When?"
"How 'bout right now?"
They were pulling out of the hangar in Duo's black Viper, when Relena noticed Wufei run out after them.
"Maxwell, what are you doing?" he yelled.
Duo lightly swore and turned to Wufei, forcing a grin. "Just taking our beautiful guest shopping."
Wufei's jaw clenched. "One, she's not our guest; and two, she doesn't need to go shopping!"
"Wufei, Wufei, her clothes are going to rot right off her body if she doesn't get any new things. Although I would enjoy that immensely," this earned him a thwap from Relena, "I don't think she would like that."
Wufei considered this, then ordered Duo to wait. Wufei came back with his motorcycle, and the two vehicles took off down the road.
Duo leaned on a wall opposite the women's dressing rooms, alternately looking at his watch and the dressing room door.
Wufei impatiently walked over. "Isn't she done yet?"
Duo shook his head, then an idea popped into his mind. "Why don't you go back? I'll stay here with her."
"No."
"No? Why not?" Duo repressed a curse. Wufei was being more stubborn than he normally was and totally ruining his plan.
"Maxwell, I simply do not trust you."
Duo snorted. "Trust me? What are you expecting me to do? Run away with her?"
"Knowing you, you'd do something like that."
Duo suddenly grinned. "Well, in that case," he clenched his hand into a fist, "you'd be absolutely right!" As he finished his sentence, he leapt forward and tackled Wufei, punching him continuously.
Wufei, although surprised at first, quickly regained his wits and kicked his attacker away. The two men stood and glared at each other.
"Maxwell, what the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Kicking your ass." He charged Wufei again; but Wufei dodged, grabbed Duo by the collar, and pushed him away. Duo hit the outside wall of the dressing room which caught Relena's attention.
She pulled her shirt on and stepped out, narrowly avoiding being crushed by Duo. She observed the fight for a couple moments and, as he ran past, knocked Wufei over the head with a heavy coat hangar. The dark-haired man collapsed in a heap, and Duo stumbled up from the clothes rack he had fallen into.
"Thanks, 'Lena. Now we have to leave before he wakes up."
The corners of Relena's mouth twitched up into a smile, and she suppressed her laughter.
Duo heard the half-choking, half-giggling noise and turned back. "Why are you laughing?"
She pointed to his head and failed in checking her laughter any longer. Duo looked at her in consternation, before he reached up, his fingers encountering lace and silk. Blushing, he threw the bra back into a pile of lingerie. He grabbed the hysterical girl by the arm and guided her out of the store.
