Heero sat in the hotel room on L-3 as Lu slept in the room next door. Heero wondered over why he had been so open with her? I mean he is always open around Duo, Trowa, Quatre and Wufei. Only those closest to him is he open to but why Noin? They did not know each other that well, Heero did like and admire Noin, she was an exceptional woman...

... Even though he didn't know her that well, he knew enough to be attracted to her. Not that he ever showed it, but Lucrezia Noin was a very exceptional woman strong, intelligent, kind-hearted and she was hardly a woman to be taken lightly. She had dominated his thoughts more then Relena ever could. But she was in love with Zechs Marquise / Milliardo Peacecraft, their relationship seemed fine at first but then problems very quickly set in...then he heard that she had caught Milliardo in bed with another woman.

Heero did not know too much of their relation but knew enough to know it probably was not a healthy one...He was really sorry for Noin, that it didn't work out, that it would end like this. Heero had always been confused on how he felt for Noin. It was almost as if he was feeling her pain and in a way it hurt him to see her suffer.

Heero shook his head, as he typed on his laptop. It was no use worrying he had a mission. A lot of Gundanium alloy had been going missing and their mission was to locate and identify who was responsible. The reason for it is unknown but there is a strong theory that is being used to develop a mobile suit.

Lucrezia Noin lay on her bed, she couldn't really sleep. The blinkers had been lifted, he wasn't perfect, no one was. Everyone made mistakes you took imperfection and moulded it to best suit you. Zechs didn't suit her. What was the source of her devotion? A schoolgirl infatuation? Being in love with an ideal? How long has she built her life around him? How many chances has she wasted for him?

Lucrezia can remember the exact moment she met Zechs, and the exact moment that her obsession began. But he was a big part of my life for so long, that it's hard not to think of him. It's been years since Zechs and her met, and for years she's been at his side.

I gave far, far too much and look where it got me? She thought bitterly, was it love anymore she felt for him?

But Lucrezia had been thinking of Heero Yuy. Pretty ironic a few years ago she had often thought about Zechs but since she talked to Heero Yuy after she was assigned to this mission, she had been thinking of him.

Pretty ironic, considering back in A.C 195? Lucrezia thought with a smile, when she first met him, he seemed cold, emotionless but somewhere within herself she knew that there was more to Heero then just the rigid exterior.

Lucrezia would meet him again in the Cinq Kingdom, Quatre once told her that there was more to Heero then what you see and she could only agree. Heero was an interesting young man and she had taken the time to learn more of his background that made his exterior understandable.

Heero was himself quite exceptional he was a strong, handsome (more so now that he's 18 years old) intelligent, an exceptional pilot but his life was built around battle in the name of peace. Lucrezia had finally seen what lay beneath his shell, she knew Heero Yuy 'the perfect soldier', I think I like Heero Yuy the man...Lucrezia thought with a smile she felt deeply honoured and touched that Heero had so open with her, she understood what lay beneath his shell now and she looked forward to getting to know him better.

I wonder why he was so open with me? I'll find out sooner or later. But right now I have other concerns. But maybe...Lucrezia thought as she drifted off to sleep.

Quatre Raberba Winner ran his fingers through his pale blonde hair.

The end of the Colonial wars and the Marimeia incident is hardly the end of our troubles. Quatre thought grimly, that incident was a lesson in complacency and many other things. Peace unfortunately has to be earned and fought for.

Duo, Trowa and Wufei on another side of L-3 where they were checking out where the Gundanium is being taken from. Quatre knew that their part was most likely just as important, this one is a strong possibility, Robert Silverburg was formerly an Alliance Major who defected to OZ during the war and after the war he joined the Marimeia army and after the incident disappeared.

Quatre let his thoughts drift from the mission and to his two respective partners Heero Yuy and Lucrezia Noin. Quatre had known that Heero had feelings for Noin and she sort of mentioned that he was quite open with her. With Heero, Quatre was sure there was an attraction and he was sure that it's the same with Noin as well.

The benefits of being an empath...

Quatre sighed and shook his head sadly as he thought about the Milliardo and Noin's relationship. Between those two it could never work out, they just were not right for each and Milliardo is too emotionally closed to feel anything real and Noin is too devoted and obsessed with him.

Milliardo was orphaned at a very young age and was forced into his secret identity would that have been enough to damage anyone permanently?

Quatre had an idea of their relationship it was a give, give, give and a take, take, take relationship with Noin did the giving and Milliardo did the taking. In the end it just fell apart when Noin caught Milliardo in bed with another woman, well that was the end of the matter. Noin has now left Milliardo.

She was well justified and I doubt she'll ever come back, especially after the way he treated her and that business with that other woman.

In many ways he kind of felt sorry for Relena that Heero didn't have feelings for her. Quatre frowned at the thought of Relena who was constantly harassing Heero, who just won't get it into her head that he does not have feelings for her. Quatre even remembered overhearing Relena say to Heero 'I'm not stalking you.' Sorry Relena, but you ARE stalking Heero, was what he wanted to say but he just stayed out. Quatre never really condoned that sort of behaviour, all Relena ever seems to do is annoy Heero, but fortunately for Heero, she's been kept busy lately so he should have some peace for a while.

Opportunities are abound. Quatre thought with a smile. Heero's openness with Noin was a start and Noin's feelings for Heero are just starting to develop and the same can be said of Heero.

Quatre shook his head, for the time being he needed to stay focused on the mission...

Authors Notes: I always felt there was more to Heero then just 'The Perfect Soldier'.
