As a rose petal falls, so does the loving heart...
Ever wishing it could go back,
From where it got it's start.

So be careful what you wish for,
   And always, to mind....

The loving heart is very special,
                       and an "only-one-of-a-kind."

Escape to Me...
Send me far away frome here, to a place serene.
Allow me, a moments care, a heart to fully clean.
Years of dust have damaged it, weighing with the load,
A tender heart, and open heart, so aged and so old.
My body, pounding veins unclogged, yet I slowly die.
And with each tear, a muddy pool, forever I do cry.
The rain doth pour, the water cloud, no drainage will allow,
Until the time, I openly, do break a weakened bow.
Hear it crack, the wood now warped, and weakened by the strain
Hear the cries, see the joy,  the heart let go of pain.
See me learn, not bitterness, but laughter and new love,
Not for those around me, but me, sent from above.
A blessed hand now guiding me, a Paradise to see,
A newfound soul, a newborn life, the one inside of me.
My time has come, to release, my overburdened heart.
The pool, no longer will it tease, nor rip, my soul apart.
I shall become, at last, one of the Elite...
A private club, for those whose lives, now seem so  complete.
A whole new world is opened, A new life shall begin...
And I, in time, will open, and love myself again.

This next piece is the one exception to my page...it was written by my daughter on 26 April 2000.  The amazing thing about it is the insight she had after just turning nine years old!!!!  She is a talented young lady, please enjoy her work. It, too, is copyrighted.
The Loving Heart
Wish Upon a Star...
"Wish upon a star," they say, "and your wish will come true."
If only I could wish today, to always be with you.
But you're so far away from me, the miles keep us apart.
So tell me, how could it be, you still command my heart?
The memories I have of you still make me smile and cry,
So I'll wish upon a star for you, up in the night-time sky.
If my wish, upon the star, does fade with time and grace,
And the days pull from my heart, the memory of your face,
I'll cry a tear for every mile that has pulled me away from you,
and stole from me, your precious smile and everything you do.
So I'll keep on wishing, in the night, upon that faithful star.
That the miles that hold, so tight, you, from me, so far.
And release our love to travel, to a shining place,
Where once our love, unraveled, I see you face to face.

The Reflection...
I came upon a gentle pool today,
it was so calm and clean.
It seemed to me, too perfect,
found only in a dream.
I knelt to look within it's depths,
it's waters to reveal...
Just what it held so deep inside,
protected as if by steel.
A ripple then, broke the spell,
it's contents to slowly ebb.
I glanced just once, and in surprise,
I found a mangled web.
On each fine thread, a story lay,
needing to be told.
Just waiting there, impatiently,
for just the right soul.
Who could undertand it's myriads,
somehow mending each small hole?
Until, at once, I recognized,
the story I now heard.
In shock I stared more deeply, more stories to be read.
Slowly, each new ripple, replaced the one ahead.
Until, at last it's secrets, to be fully revealed,
And what I saw within the pool,
was honest and so real.
I saw for the first time, a soul confused and lost,
trying to reach out to live,
no matter what the cost.
I placed my hand within the pool, to smooth it's rippled edge,
It enveloped me, so tenderly, that I could not resist.
I looked at it, and felt it's love, and slowly I even learned,
to return that love into the pool, so fervently, that I had no where else to turn....
For what I saw within the pool, I recognized within myself.
I looked into the pool once more and realized that what I saw and read, was merely...                                                       My Reflection.
