DON JUAN TENORIO
The Legend
It's very known the famous work of The Phantom of the Opera: Don Juan Triumphant.
But, do we also know its origins?
Don Juan is a very popular literary theatrical work whose writter is Tirso de Molina (a priest)in the XVII Century.
Is Don Juan a seducer and courteous character
who deceive all the women he conquest.
At last, he is damned to the Hell in punishment of his acts.
But the romantic detail is put by Jose Zorrilla in XIX Century.
In his work, Don Juan knows what Love means. He loves at last.
And this love will save him of his penance.
But not only Don Juan is a famous Spanish legend...Lord Byron, Moliere and many others took this legend for their works.
Mozart make use of it for his wonderful Opera called Don Giovanni.
In the photo, we can see a Opera's scene in which the punishment of Don Juan is carry out by one of the men who he killed.
In Don Juan's figure always will endure,in spite of the transformations,
something which belong to any man, his conscience face to face with Time and Death.
