I only have the first five volumes of the MSG manga, by Kazuhisa Kondo. The manga tells the basic story and seems to follow the movie version. (Bright doesn't get ill). The manga doesn't focus much on their relationship with each other, or any of the character's romanctic relationships, for that matter. The manga was written in 1994, 15 years after the TV show came out. Most anime start with a manga series, and than is made into a TV show or movie. MSG was made "backwards", and the manga pales in comparison. My guess is that the manga was made as a basic guide to the storyline. I glanced through Vol. 9 at the comic book store, and it seemed that the Cameron part was same, but we'll see. |
