THE TARNISHED ANGEL
Hello, Angel, would you fly down just a bit;
If you are an angel, then you'll admit,
That you're soaring too high,
For a simple country guy;
So, come on down for a little charming wit.

It seems that halo's lost some of it's glow;
And your wings, why, they're beginning to slow;
An angel should be snowy white,
Soaring around on wings so light.
A tarnish is hard to rub off, you know.

Tell me, why the tarnish, why choose it on you;
There should be no tarnish in the skies so blue;
Never choose dullness over the bright;
Shine up your halo, see by it's light;
You'll find you're on the path of a lonely few.

Maybe the tarnish is from this world in a spin
So full of lonliness, there seems to be no end,
But, just open your eyes,
As you're flying the skies.
You're a Tarnished Angel, I'm still your friend.

TRAIN OF THOUGHTS

What sort of train of thoughts is this;
A-roaring down my track;
That somehow it always manages,
To mysteriously call me back;
To days that I really should forget;
Cause they only bring me pain;
O Lord, only you can help me;
To depart from this train.

It travels mostly at nighttime;
When I'm blue and all alone;
Speeding steadily through the years;
No-one even knows I'm gone.
Everything that I've lived through,
Falls in my head like rain;
Some memories sad, others good;
As I'm riding on this train.

With grinding wheels, it passes through,
My boyhood days of old;
A screeching stop at my first love;
There's a memory so bold;
Of a lovely girl and of a son;
But, he'll never wear my name;
I wish so much, that he was with me now,
Instead of me being on this train.

Then through the meadows of many days,
My thoughts switch to another track;
The skies so clear, the days so rosy;
Happiness was finally back;
I met another, and felt love all over;
I knew that I was caught;
But good things end, I'm alone again,
To ride this train of thoughts.

THE NIGHT THAT WOULD LAST FOREVER
If I could spend one night with you;
Time would stand still and never,
Would the sun rise again in the skies.
T'would be a night that would last forever.
We'd walk on the clouds, lost in each other;
A closeness no-one could sever;
Tightly clinging to that wonderful night;
The night that would last forever.

We would spend an eternity in paradise;
A world built only for two;
Just holding you and loving you,
Is all I ever want to do.
Darling, you hold the power;
To make me perform any endeavor.
Just one night with you would have to be;
A night that would last forever.

Tonight, Honey, when you think of me;
Remember the emptiness that we both had;
Before I met you and we both knew;
Everything in life only made us sad.
But one day, you just wait and see;
There'll be a surprise that'll seem quite clever;
Everything will be right, and there'll be that night;
The night that will last forever.

BABY, 'CAUSE YOU'RE YOU

The stars up in heaven, thru a sky of misty blue;
All smile down upon us, Baby, cause you're you.
I know this may sound corny, so laugh, if you want to;
But, remember, someone does care, Baby, cause you're you.

You may put a little front, and tell a lie or two;
Underneath beats a heart of gold, Baby, cause you're you.
At times you lose your temper, as most all people do;
Next minute you're gentle and kind, Baby, cause you're you.

You have lots of problems, and at times you're sad and blue;
Your worry is for others, Baby, cause you're you.
No matter whatever happens, always stay honest and true;
The main reason I love you is, Baby, cause you're you.

FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is a key, that unlocks many doors;
It's range is limitless, crossing many shores.
It's, also, a beacon to brighten up our way;
Bringing smiles and happiness, both night and day.

Friendship is a tool, for mending broken hearts;
For tightening relationships, may they never part.
It's, also, a compass, to guide us down the trail,
Of peace and serenity, cause friendship doesn't fail.

Friendship is a ship, to float away our fears,
There's safety in numbers, now and through the years.
It's, also, a warehouse, our love is stored within,
Friends are forever, love without an end.
