My Sister, My Friend

I can remember her the way she was
What she looked like the day she left us
Growing up together, sisters
Oh, how I miss her
A baby to a toddler, then
A seven year old with beauty outside and in
A very bright girl
Long blonde hair with a little curl
Bright blue eyes
And a brilliant smile
Always loving with lots of friendships to hold dear
Oh, how I wish that she was still here
She and I were very close
Always telling secrets, I loved her most
I remember the things she said
Talking at night, lying in bed
Telling each other about our days
Helping each other in sisterly ways
Staying up late on Christmas night
Getting up to peek with our little flashlight
Putting on fashion shows
And wearing each other's clothes
Playing in the wintry snow or hot days of summer
With her around it was always funner
Wearing mom's long dresses and high heel shoes
Dressing up was fun to do
Especially when we had make-up, too
She was like my best friend
I wish we could do this stuff again
I can't help but wonder what she would be like now
Because I think what would she look like and how would she act, how?
She would probably be good in school
Everyone thinking she was cool
I just want to see her face again
My sister, my friend
She is now in heaven above
Looking down with lots of love
