through the jungle which you call the city,

still of it’s anger and tempered self pity.
Be
still in the shadows that watch through the night,
Be
still of the weary and the ones lost of plight.
Be
still of the crazies that may track you down,

of their shadows of guns that abound.
Be
still in the air as you stare towards the light,
Be
still in the blackness that invites all your fright.
Be
still as fear surrounds you like a shallow wall,
Be
still for I’m out there, protecting you all.
Be
still in your dreams and keep your fears far away,
Be
still as I watch over you and keep harm far at bay.
Be
still for the angel who stands guard over me,
Be
still as she struggles to keep my soul free.
Be
still in my comfort, may it be all you need,
Be
still as I continue, and just pray I succeed.
