"Journey"

by Paloma

He can't….he won't…let go,

It's been there…..Glorious as birth….

a Promise,

Faithful as Dawn placing a lavendar foot,

spotted with amber,

into the steps left by an icy Night…

Faithful as pink buds opening

a cupid mouth to serenade a coming Spring,

to the dismay of  crystal Winter…

Say my name, ….. friend,

let this Good Night catch and hold

a Promise kept…yesterday,  today,

and provision for your journey….

tomorrow.

Say my name….

even your breath rushes….releases,

can you not do this for me?

Let me go….

to ride the ridge of a red mountain,

to the swing of a bent and knowing river,

claiming the heart of the sea…

He took my hand…

blue stars pushed against the window….

and…..he said my name…"Hutch"

and let me go……
