In feudal Japan, an era where humans and demons still live together, there's a hanyou named Inuyasha. Inuyasha is a half demon or youkai, that means his father is a youkai but his mother is human. Having half blood like that was very embarrassing in this time. A hanyou like Inuyasha can't become one of the humans or youkai and was hated by all of them. Inuyasha always lived by himself until he wanted to get the shikon no tama (a jewel that contain a magic power). He wanted to use that jewel to change himself into full youkai. But, the jewel had always been protected by a priestess named Kikyou. One day, when Inuyasha stole the jewel, Kikyou shot him with an arrow against a tree. He then become sealed to the tree. After that, Kikyou died because of her fatal wound. 50 years later, a girl named Kagome, who is Kikyou's reincarnation, was pulled into an old well by a youkai. She has been taken to feudal Japan and met Inuyasha that has been sealed to the tree. After that, Kagome got chased by a centipede because she had the shikon no tama inside her body and ended up in Inuyasha’s forest. Inuyasha told her to free him from the arrow if she didn't want to be killed by the centipede. Some how Kagome was able to destroy the seal. After Inuyasha killed the centipede, he threatens Kagome to give the jewel to him, but fortunately, Kagome can handle him with one word, that's: "osuwari!!" (sit!!) and he will be pulled down to the ground. (ouch! that’s gotta hurt!) Unfortunately they both hate each other and bicker all the time. But one day, the jewel gets stolen by a bird demon, that looks like a crow with three eyes. Kagome shot it with an arrow and her arrow destroyed the shikon no tama into many shards that spread out across the world. Because of that, Kagome and Inuyasha must work together to gather all the shikon shards before it falls into the hands of an evil demon. And so, the long journey unfolds. . . . Once the jewel is complete will Inuyasha use it to become full demon or human? Will the half-demon and girl ever get along? Who will they meet along the way? What secrets will unravel? Who is this demon that has most of the shards? And what does Inuyasha’s half brother Sesshomaru want?
