Meet Our
Students....
At African Bible College, we believe we truly have the "cream of the crop" when it comes to our students!  They come mainly from Malawi, but we also have many from other African countries includeing:  Etheiopia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Rwanda, Sierra Leon, Libera, etc.
Many of them have sacrificed greatly enorder for the opportunity to "Learn the Treasures of God's Truth" here at ABC.
"My name is Chimwemwe Kennedy Matonga, and I am 23 years old.  I am the chairperson of the National Youth Council of Malawi and a Law Commissioner in the Child Rights Commission, as well as being a student at ABC.
I was awarded the Commonwealth Youth Service Award Africa Winner under the project "Keep Them Busy".  This is a young achiever's award that is presented to outstanding sons of the African Continent in recognition of their important contributions to society.  It draws nominations virtually from all African Countries and the one who is selected as the best receives the Award."

Chimwemwe (which means "joy" or "happiness" in Chichewa) is a senior student at ABC with plans to graduate in 2002.  In order to receive this award, he had to win for all of Malawi, and then compete with others representing their countries as they all met in South Africa.  Chimwemwe was chosen above all others in all countries competing and was presented the award by Nelson Mandela.
"I am a young Zimbabwean man who received Jesus Christ as my personal saviour in 1987.  My church denomination is Baptist.  In 1990, I was trained as an AWANA leader.  I served the Lord at our church as a commander in AWANA Clubs for nine years.  In addition to that, I served Him as a pastor for three years.  In that time I saw the Lord saving children and parents.   Some of the children are now AWANA leaders and youth leaders in the church.

At present I am a freshman at African Bible College.  My deep desire is to be fully equipped with the word of God and to know Him and His power of resurrection.  During my college holiday, I will be assisting my churches to start AWANA  Clubs in training leaders.

'And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.' @ Timothy 2:2 - This verse is a voice of the Lord in my ears.

After my graduation, either with the bachelor of arts degree or masters degree, my deep rooted desire is to be a pastor.  I would like to join those who are in the field.  May God accomplish the good thing He had started in me.

Yourse in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Luxmore Mandevani"

"Good Munyonga is a junior at ABC.    He loves attending classes although the work is tough.  Nevertheless,        classes are exciting and precious for they are about most important truths - God's word.  Professors are also          amiable and dedicated.

Good, 39, is married to Christina with Uluji (which means "righteousness") 6, a girl and Uchizi 3, a boy.  The family used to live 400 km away from Good at ABC, but to Good's joy, the family has been given one of the newly built apartments for married students at ABC.

One of the challenges that face Good is his mobility problem.  His right polio leg causes walking to be more and more hazardous.  Appropriate authorities have advised him to avoid walking as much as possible as they seem helpless to provide right walking aid.  This however, never robs Good of his wide smiles for he has more reasons for happiness than sadness."
Fletcher Matandika is a senior this year at ABC.  In addition to his role of student, he also serves as the director of an orphan care organization called Ministry of Hope.  This was established in 1999 in response to the problems faced by the overwhelming number of orphans surrounding Mkuza Presbyterian Church which is pastored by Fletcher's dad, who has been a pastor in
in the CCAP (Church of Cenral Africa, Presbyterian, since 1976.  In 1999, over 200 children were registered in the orphan ministry and this number has climbed to over 700 at present due to the great challenges facing the Malawi as it struggles to care for the approximagely 2 million orphans mostly caused by the AIDS pandemic.
In an effort to care for the needs of these children, Fletcher has developed programs in the following areas:
Evangelism & Discipleship * Educational Support * Nutrition and Health Care * Feeding Programs

"I am the second born in my family and I have three brothers and three sisters.  I came to the Lord when I was 9 years old and I love Him so much and my desire is to live my life for Him as best I possibly can.  God has given me a real heart and desire for ministry.  He has given me a passion for sharing His love with the lost, especially the poor and neeedy of our society here in Malawi, and Africa in general.  From a young age I have always wanted to do something significant for God and for other people.  For many years, I did not know exactly what He wanted me to do.  But God has been working in my life since the day I was born (and even before).  He has taken me through so many experiences to prepare me for His work.  He has put things together for me.  He has brought the right people into my life, people who have challenged me, encouraged me and have inspired me to walk closely with God and to trust Him to do great things in and through my life"
