Before I even start, I know there is gonna be someone mailing me whining because they thought something was good that I don't like that much. I'm gonna tell you right off the bat, don't waste your time. These are MY views. If you don't like the reviews I give an album, make your own webpage and rate them differently. There now, on to the reviews. |
Cd's: Kill 'em All:-- Heavy! I love to listen to this album when I'm full of energy. It really pumps you up. Ride the Lightning:-- This is one of my personal favorite albums. I love every single song on it, especially Cliff's infamous solo (Call of the Ktulu) and "Creeping Death". Master of Puppets:-- Heavy stuff. I liked this album a lot. My favorite on this album was "Welcome Home". ...And Justice For All:-- I'm sorry, I just don't like this one very much. I do like the first five, and Dyer's Eve, but that's about it. Everyone has to have a bottom of the list in their mind, and this is it for me. Black Album:-- This is one of the best. I don't think there is a song on this album I don't like. For a first time Metallica listener, try "Enter Sandman". Everyone knows this as sort of a Metallica signature song, and most Metallica fans claim it to be their favorite song. Load:-- I don't care what anyone else thinks, I loved Load! It's just so cool how they can change their style slightly and bring in a whole new group of Metallica fans. It's the new group of fans I worry about, though. They are so used to this slower, less 'growly' style the band has put into their work lately that they are going to be in for a shock when and if they get the older albums. ReLoad:-- This album is a perfect combination of old and new. "The Unforgiven 2," and "Devil's Dance" bring back something from the past, and "The Memory Remains" paves the way for an entirely new direction of metal. Garage, Inc.:-- The first album was totally kick-ass! The second was basically all their old covers, so it was nice to hear it (I don't have Garage Days). I know they didn't write any of the songs, but they sure made it sound great! My personally favorites are "Die, Die My Darling" and "Whiskey in the Jar". S&M:This album is really cool. The two new songs are great, and hearing all my old favorites with an orchestra is something I would have never expected! St. Anger:I cannot say enough about this album. I LOVE IT. Frantic is my most favorite song and I about died when they played it in concert. This cd has not left my player in my car since I bought it. Video's: Live Sh*t:Binge and Purge:-- This box set was completely worth the $100 dollars I spent on it. Three videos and a three-disc cd full of the guys in concert(which, btw, is hysterical), plus a book, stencil, and a snake pit pass.Plenty of Metallica stuff--so binge and purge!! Cunning Stunts:-- This is also well worth the money. Here, you get to hear one of the first versions of "Fuel".That really messed with my head when I tried to sing along and the band was singing different words than me...Anyway, look into getting this, it's worth it. S&M:-- This particular tape was a really awesome purchase. Two new songs, plus the symphony playing with the band to all my favorite songs was really trippy. The only thing that sucks is after I bought this tape, VH1 aired it every day for a month or so, so any idiot could have taped it and saved 20 bucks...well, at least it's a collectors item. |
