STRETFORD AT WAR

Being so close to the target of Trafford Park made Stretford a dangerous place to live in the war. There are lots of legacies from this era. Turn Moss Camp, Barton Clough shelters and gun emplacement stand on the Stretford Meadows are just some. A Visit to Stretford Cemetery and the Cenotaph will give something of the cost paid in both World Wars by the people of Stretford.
