Denzel Washington stars in this film as Frank Lucas, a drug dealer, who takes over the streets of the Harlem district of Manhattan, when his employer and mentor passes away. Lucas then decides to market heroin on the streets. Using a unique method of importation, Lucas brings in heroin from a supplier in South East Asia. Russell Crowe also stars in the film as Richie Roberts, a honest policeman, who puts together a joint narcotics task force with the Federal government. It's only a matter of time before Lucas and Roberts jobs collide. This film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lymari Nadal, and Josh Brolin. This is a great film. What makes it work so well is how director Ridley Scott is able to shift back and forth between the two characters stories and continously keep both stories interesting. The acting in this film is great. Everything about this film is great. This film will for sure find itself in my top ten list. |
