This film stars Samuel L. Jackson as Lazarus, a southern farmer who recently became divorced and life feels empty. Christina Ricci stars as Rae, a women who suffers from her childhood sexual abuse and can't get her life under control. One night after taking drugs and drinking heavily, she is beaten and left for dead on a road outside Lazarus's house. Lazarus finds Rae the next day and decides to take her in. When he finds out more about her he decides to help cure her from her out of control lifestyle. However, he finds out that she might just be able to cure him. This film also stars Justin Timberlake. I really like this movie. Yes, the methods Lazarus uses to cure Rae may be a little extreme, yet works. I like how two people completely opposite of each other are able to find a connection. Christina Ricci gives probably her best performance ever and Jackson is very good as well. This is a great movie. |
