Crash
Perhaps the most powerful and unfortunate act that happens on a daily basis is racism. This new film captures that act in a two day story of events in Los Angeles. Several stories are overlapped such as a black police detective with a drugged out mother and a brother who is a car thief along with his car theiving friend who constantly talks about his theories on society and race. We are also presented with a extremly racist cop who is caring for is sick father and disgusts his co-worker with his racist acts. We also see a successfull black Hollywood director and his wife deal with a racist cop as well as a Iranian who protects his shop with a gun and has a run in with a black locksmith. Also, we see a story of a district attorney and his irritated wife. The film stars Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillipe, Brendan Frasier, Don Cheadle and Thandie Newton. This film depicts the topic a racism in a very powerful manner. The writing for this film is suberb and the acting is well done. I enjoyed this film much . This is one of the years best films.
