Tom Hanks stars as Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbologist who is called on to a murder scene at the Louvre to decipher a mysterious riddle. What he soon uncovers could shake the foundations of christianity. This film also stars Jean Reno, Ian McKellen, Paul Bettany, and Audrey Tautou. I won't go much into detail on the ideas of this film, but I will say they are proposterus and in my mind fake. However, the film itself works. The acting is good, expecially with the dialolague they had to work with. Yes, the film is long and sometimes dull, but it is also intresting and thrilling at the same time. I have read the book "The Da Vinci Code", which I enjoyed, and feel the film might have left out some scenes that could have been beneficial, but I did like the slightly different ending the movie had. This film isn't as good as I expected, but it still is good. |
