Well here we go. The last review of a Star Wars movie, or at least for quite some time. The new Star Wars film stars Hayden Christenson as Anikan Skywalker, Ewen McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Natalie Portman as Padme. In the film Anakin and Obi-Wan must defend the Republic from an attack by a Separist Droid army. At the same time Chancellor Palapatine(Ian McDiarmid) transforms the Republic into his own tyrannical regime and convinces Anakin to help, thus he joins the dark side. The basic idea of the film is to simply show us how Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader. The film does that very well. The toughest part about making this film is that it had to end by making everything in Episode IV making sense. Director George Lucas does that perfectly. The special effects are once again incredible and the fight scenes are very entertaining. Yes, the cheesy dialog from Episode II is back again, but we don't really care much as we enjoy learning how we arrived at the events in the fourth movie. This is the best of the new Star Wars films and maybe as good as "Return of The Jedi." |
